Which way do arrows on pistons go?

I have a buddy who is in his shop right now putting new pistons in his 09 Dragon.

Do the arrows point at the exhaust valves or intake side?

Arrow indicates airflow, thus points to exhaust. Better to ask and know, then to assume.

The arrow is arbitrary. I can depend on the mfg of the piston. The ring end gaps, however, should never cross the exhaust port. End gaps always go toward the intake, and most (some little pistons may not) will follow the cylinder wall between ports.

So scott your tellin me that if you have a piston fail you haul it all the way to tater ?
sounds like you need to spend a little time with tater and have him show you how..
I know tater knows his stuff but the last time some one installed a piston in one of mine I was 12..
