which turbo sytem for apex on big boost?

You could try out Daves new header and see if he can build you a 3" downpipe, definately go with an RB3 box.
 
Go powder lites Dave has a lot of guys doing cool things, the fastest guys out there have been in touch with Dave for one thing or another. They have what you need or he can custom one off any part you need.
 
If you really want big boost contact Brad Story about his HP3 propane systems. I've ridden one that was at 24-26 pounds and it was insane... Brad was running his at over 30 pounds and it was just a matter of how to hang on. Another nice thing is no race gas and propane is cheaper. :)
 
whats big boost ? most kits come to be set up around 18 pounds. Any thing after that and you should do youre internals , will need a bigger turbo and make sure youre fuel system can handle it . either way youll have a rockin sled !
 
I want to run 22 plus pounds of boost i will be doing pistons and rods etc
looking into cylinder sleeving or support any body know whos doing that
 
where are you located ? theres also alot of other great companies that make kits to run big boost . i havent heard of any one making and Rb3 box work on any thing over 18 pounds but that was a while ago , some one could have got one to work . alpine has been pushing the limits of the apex the hardest for the longest . im running an impulse set up and it rocks but its on a nytro , give paul at impulse a call though hes all about big boost sleds with wicked response .
 
Which turbo kit for Big boost?

Why big boost? Propane would have to run a lot more boost to make same power. but propane is smoooth!
You should be asking for big HP or torque!
20 psi boost can make over 400 HP on a proper set up turbo kit.
Small intercooler, poor exhaust outlet and poor EFI control and your way down on power.
20 psi on a poor turbo kit won't even get 350 HP
So study up on what you really want and know how much HP and what type of riding you will be doing with it.
Yes we have RB3 and larger injectors kits coming that will make it easy to make more power efficently then most of our competition.

ok dave i want big horse power , big torque and a header that last more than a weekend , now who do you recomend , did ya get my email on asking about cylinder sleeving or support ,
 
Apex Big HP

We would like to see you sleeve with Hurricane setup because of flanges and close deck cyl.
We can get that done for big HP motors.
Also we are working on new stage 3 Apex intercoolers and here is picture of core.

Apex new turbo kits
Stage I 300 HP
This kit comes with GT2860RS Garrett turbo with ported waste gate, ceramic coated housing and 2” double divorced down pipe for great efficiency.
We at POWDER LITES are always improving our products so your ride is the best it can be.
Intercoolers have changed a little now with better velocity stacks; cores have no side plates or fins so we get extra tubes.
Charge air coming into front tank is good for high boost without having uneven flow to each cyl.
Air box is sized to engine and tubes in the intercooler cores straighten out air to air box for low pressure drop.
We never put air into front tank with elbow so charge air is blowing across tubes causing siphoning on first few tubes and high pressure on end tubes with low efficiency and uneven charge to each cyl.
Deeper core tubes are now standard on all intercoolers plus a new core for stage 3 Apex good for over 400 HP

All turbo kits now come with Rapid bike 3 so you have the best control over EFI / Ign timing plus bonus of easy upgrading maps or tuning for custom setups.
1- RB3 can raise RPM limiter
2- Run 2 maps that can be switched manual or with a boost switch etc.
3- 2 maps give you race or pump gas maps at different boost levels.
4- Stutter button for drag racing at what ever RPM you want.
5- Advance timing or retard at any RPM for throttle response and using higher boost levels and stock compression ratio’s.
6- Email maps or share with your buddies without sending box back to reprogram.
7- Blue Bike/Tooth so you can change maps or fine tune with smart cell phones, palmtop, laptop etc using Windows Mobile
8- Can be used on stock motors and then add map sensor to run on boosted engines.

Apex stage II 350 HP
Garrett GT2871 with machined intake, ported waste gate, and ceramic coated rated at over 450 HP
2.25”double down pipe with divorced waste gate.
Intercooler is Longer and coated to help in cooling charge air.
Newer 4 into 2 then into 1 header for better throttle response and HP.

Apex Stage III 400 HP and up
Larger intercooler cores with deeper tubes 2.81 “
Coated with heat dissipating coating
Larger injectors rated for over 500 HP
