Which trailer do you prefer?

When it comes to enclosed sled trailers which you guys prefer? The 8.5' wide ones or the 7' wide ones and why? The ones with the wheels under the trailer without wheel wells or the ones with wheel wells on the inside and why?

Also, does anybody know if Pace trailers were all aluminum in 2000?

Thanks,

Mike

Wider is always the way to go because more room all around. There is so many trailers out there but, i preach Mirage alot because i love the options they offer. They are light and the polybead floor rocks. The lighting is sweet and they tow awesome. To answer your question, I dont think they were all alluminum until 2002 or 2003 but, dont quote me. Let me know what you are looking for

The 7' wides are nice for us who have to travel a long ways.
They tow so much nicer than the high & wide ones.

If I didn't have to travel far....I would want an 8' wide.

We're looking for a 4-place. Would prefer all aluminum. Looking to spend between $4,000 and $6,000. We travel anywhere from 9 to 12 hrs one way for each trip. Someone had mentioned a 7' wide pulls easier with high winds. Would rather have the 8' wide so we don't have to stagger the sleds though.

What are you towing with? And yes go wide you won't be disapointed. As for a steel design will be cheaper because alluminum is expensive.

Get the wide trailer to put the sleds in side by side. If you want easier long distance towing, get the wheel wells (lower overall height), and/or flip the axles upside down (yet lower stance). Pulls like a dream even in high winds, easier loading and unloading due to low ramp angles. The only disadvantage is sometimes I bottom out over deep road transitions, but it doesn't hurt the trailer.

We pull our 8' wide triton prestige 24 ft 15 hours one way everytime we go about 7 times a year and it pulls great. Overall it is a great enclosed trailer no complaints.

I just changed from a all aluminum 12ft deckover with a clamshell to a 24ft all aluminum v-nose deckover. I didn't notice hardly any difference in the way it pulls. I can say this, My main idea was to haul as much stuff as I could with the shortest trailer so that's why I chose the side by side model >>>>.

I have a powerstroke and with my mirage 28' loaded with five sleds isn't really that heavy. My buddy does the same with his duramax and it tows better. Probably because I run 37'' tires but that's my own fault. I would say if you could find a screaming deal on a alluminum one do it, but you will be just as happy with a mirage or interstate. Hope this helps!

I really like my Interstate 29ft. ordered it as a Zero Dust with 4- fuel doors and switched the man doo to the left side!m makes it alot more convient. I can haul 5 long track sleds (151 to 166 tracks) Pulls great!

7 wide

i can see around my 7 foot wide on the interstate. its low to the ground with the wheels on the outside. v nose dosnt buck the wind at all. i used to tow it around with a half ton gmc. 7x27 triton. now if i could just keep the stupid 6.0 powerstroke running

we just sold our 28' 8' wide for a 33' 7 wide. We pull with duramaxes and that 8' wide was a sail! We're happy with the 7' width for aerodynamics. but then again its a 12 hr trip each way...

When you decide on a trailer, make sure that all doors are on the drivers side.
1. When you pull up to get gas driver can see much better.
2. Hate to have fuel doors on one side and walk in door on other.
3. Might be able to not have an extra fuel door and use walkin door.
4. Costs more but, I wish on my trailer I would of just put in two walk in doors. Just for the ease of getting in for gas. And one more place to throw things. For the ease of access and less clutter in pickup
