Which track for a KX500?

I am running a Kx500 in Washington. I ride in just about every kind of snow we get.

So far I've had a lot of track spin on my 120 x 1.75 track. I'd like to put more power to the ground. While I wait for a powder day, I'd like to hear some Ideas.

How short a track can one find with 3" paddles?

Wouldn't a 136 with 3" paddles be nice? Can you get 3" on anything shorter than 156? Haven't seen anything. Best Tracks USA has is 146x16x2.5 2.86 pitch $640
You comfortable cutting up $640?

Get the TS 137 2 inch track. Trust me, it is plenty of track. The 1.75 track you currently have is the old 2.52 driver track that was a cut-down track before Timbersled had their new custom molded tracks that are 2.86 pitch. The new tracks are a stiffer paddle, the paddles are spaced a bit further apart, and they do not have fiberglass rods all the way out to the edge for more flex. I cannot understate what a huge difference it was going from an old 2.52 to the new 2.86 137. You can do a cheaper upgrade by buying the track and drivers from TS and getting some rail extensions from WPS, but I did rails, drivers, track, and the new flex arm. Excellent refresh of nearly the entire kit. Might as well do bearings while you are in there too.

Also the extra ski push is noticeable on the 137 but is something you can adjust to. Anything over that would probably be too much. WheelHouse did a custom 155 and it was miserable how much it pushed the ski... took all its playfulness away.

The 2.5" with 10" big wheels fits perfect at the end of your adjuster. 146" Then cut every nub off the outside and every other clip. It reduces weight by over 3lbs and is amazing on a modded 4T. It would be my choice for the KX500AF "Monster" last year.

Anyone tried doing a 120 to 129 extension? 129 seems like a good spot to meet in the middle. It may not push as hard, and may do well enough in the deep to keep from having to do a 137. Just a thought.

I have the 137 from last year. Works pretty good.

Fun on trails, can rail around corners just like it's a berm. Good traction in deep snow too.

Thanks for the ideas!

X2 on the bearings. I am on my third set for the jack shaft.
