Which track? Cobra or Ripsaw?

Stock Assault track finally came apart. Spend alot of time in the U.P. and Wisc. I can see why the Cobra might be a good choice, but will I miss the traction that a 1.75 Ripsaw might provide. I want more top speed, but not at the expense of destroying another track. The Ripsaw seems like it might survive high speed runs across Lake Goegebic. Who has experience with the 1.75 Ripsaw? Will the Cobra still let me freeride?

I have a cobra for my assault for riding here in MN its ok. If you want top speed then the cobra would be your choice over the 1.75 rip, and the cobra will hold together just fine. Off trail the 1.75 would be much better but it sounds like speed is the main thing, so the cobra would suit you better!

It would be nice to re-gear and gain some gas mileage, as well as cruising without having to hold the throttle wide open. Maybe some studs for stopping. Spinning the track on ice is something I'd like to reduce. I knew the stock track wouldn't last long, no anger there. It's just too difficult to keep the sled on super-snowy trails. Would the 1.75 Ripsaw suffer the same fate as my stock track?

Is there a speed rating for the 1.75? I knew the stock track was limited. It got damaged from braking while turning on bad trails (exposed rocks, stumps). I had a 1.25 ripsaw on my Vector and enjoyed that track (not so much the sled). That's why I'm considering the ripsaw. Not very often do I find myself going 90mph. But you know how that goes.

i have a corba...excellent track!! i ride in the UP of mi and i havent had any problems with getting stuck. the design of the cobra track for loose snow is way better than the ripsaw. if i were to guess the corba wont take a back seat to the ripsaw in the fluff and for sure top speed. just my thoughts

The ripsaw is a much stiffer track then the cobra is. I have not had the opportunity to ride the ripsaw 1.75, but comparing that with a standard sno-cross track which are 1.75 seem to loose lugs fairly easy when riding them on or off trail. I have had the opportunity to ride a cobra 1.375 to a 1.25 ripsaw and it was night and day difference. I think your best bet for both worlds would be the 1.375 cobra especially if you ride in Wisconsin also. Plus if you want to through a few studs in the track it should be a little cheaper.
