So which tekvest is the most comfortable? Who sells for the best price? Seems they are pretty expensive where I'm looking...

Anyone useed sixsixone protective gear? looks good and is way cheaper.

I prefer the Freestyle TekVest. 1st Place Parts are as good a price as any. I personally wouldn't wear anything else. TekVest has saved me a few times already, broken bones cost way more than the cost of good equipment that works.

vest

i too was in this dilema
tekvest..too big and bulkky for me
i wanted something that would fit under jacket etc,

went with a dirtbike style one
its a soft shell but has hard protective plastic front and back
super comfortable as well
its an EVS Revolution 4

here are some pics for ya

bought it on ebay for $47
it does the trick

Super Sport is the way to go in my opinion. I bought mine from a local dealer and it has saved my #$% many times. Seems in the deep pow I have a way of getting so sideways that I get bucked over the front and then ran over by my own sled. Happens at least once a year.

I race MX and wear the dirt over the jersey protecter (Fox) but in the snow i want something less rigid and inside the coat. I think over the jacket plastic will be a limb grabber.

See a few on ebay every once in a while if you dont wanna go new....

I like the Trail Pro model, and bought from a local dealer.
Like the way it fits, especially nice for distributing the weight
of your backpak, its warm, and has saved me more then once.

I bought the hard plastic Moto-Cross style vest last year and made a bad mistake of buying it big.

When I was helping someone get unstuck it would really bruise my bicepts bad.

I would come home black and blue from it not fitting properly.

I think the moto-cross style vest is probably the least expensive way to go for the most protection but make sure you do not buy it too large!!

I was in the same boat. Tek-Vest = big bulky and hot. At least is was for me. I have used the EVS revo 4 and it worked fine, but wanted a little more around the mid section. I switched to the 661 core saver last year. I loved it. :D Has protection in all critical areas,,,,chest back shoulders ribs and kidneys. Pretty much the same as a tek vest, but half the wieght and bulk and much more ventilated.
I'm sure i'm going to get ripped apart on here that if you don't wear a tek vest or B wear you are going to die. Don't get me wrong, they are great products and endorsed by most racing sanctions. Unfortunately, they aren't exactly what most riders are looking for. Snowmobiling should be enjoyable. You should also be safe. When you wear something all day long, you want to be safe and comfortable.
I feel this product is a good compromise of the 2. I sold alot of these last year and had just as much positive feedback about it. I even tested it myself a few times last season. It seems to be exactly what some of us are looking for. Hope that helped at least a bit.

I wear a tekvest freestyle with the arms... quite comfortable, hardly notice it's on. Masks the weight of a pack too.

And it's saved me from more bruises and likely broken ribs than I care to count. One good hit and you won't ride without it......

I'm 6'3" and used the core saver from 661 last year.

Last April... after tail tapping a hidden drift behind the one I launched off on a mountain step up jump, I nosed in pretty nicely, ate the bars hard, and broke 2 ribs on the landing...

While I like the core saver: it can be worn under my coat and it allows for increased mobility; It does NOT do much for protecting a tall guys ribs.
It's not as rigid as the external chest protectors and provides very little shoulder protection. My lower torso feels exposed when riding in the standing position.

The core saver holds quite a bit of body heat. I rode most of the season with a synthetic T shirt on beneath it and only my coat over the top. I liked that about it and will continue to wear it.

That being said, I AM looking for something better suited for stand up riding/jumping/mountain stuff.

Anyone know of any products that help with rib protection/offer tall sizing, or if "kidney belts" help at all?
Any motoX-ers or taller guys feel free to chime in. :beer;

Some of the guys I ride with use the hard shell style chest protectors over their coats while others wear compression suits underneath, it's a lot of personal preference. I ride with knee pads and a chest protector every time we go out, maybe that's because I'm just getting older...Not any smarter:o

I really like the Bwear vest. F-bomb can get you a good deal.
I almost forget I have it on. In the spring I'm not dieing of heat.
When it's cold it keeps you a little warmer.

Is B-wear making vests this year? Was hoping to get one from F-bomb at the Denver show but heard he wasn't going to have any? Were else can you get one?
