Which Snow Flap?

Looking for feedback on the 3" track flap. I've got a '12 Pro with an X3 track, and the stock flap always gets pulled under, especially on bumpy trails. I always notice because the engine temperature sky rockets.

So, for better cooling and no grabbing, should I get a SBA flap(no holes) and screw it to my aluminum bumper(like the SBA setup) or should I get the OEM 3" track flap? Does it withstand the same abuse the stock flap does and will it go thru the deep without dragging me down?

I like my 3" one for cooling, has held pretty well since I am not nice to it. It has been sucked up 3 times in two season while going down the trail but you know it because it is loud!

I'm running the new AXYS 3" flap on my 13 RMK Assault and have been all season. Held up perfect and I was amazed at how well the cooling was improved over the older "holed" factory flap.

The axys 3" flap tore and fell off mine and my brothers sleds in 300-400 miles.

(Deep snow and steep sidehills destroyed them)

(This flap will actually hold the back end of the sled up when it cups the snow)

As in getting stuck and the track is spinning air with all the weight on the snowflap.

If you don't ride so much of that it will probably work well for cooling.

I've got the snow flap that has holes in it and cooling is very poor compared to the 3" big flap. A happy compromise might be the same snow flap I have that doesn't have any holes in it and comes on the Assault I believe. I'm thinking about making the switch myself.

Thats exactly what mine and my buddies flaps did, same 300-400 mile range. We got the covered under warranty, but I dont think they cost all that much anyway. Eric

I didn't like getting stuck from a stupid flap so after not experiencing any heat issues with no flap we both put the holey pro flap on.
Problem solved.
No heat issues whatsoever.

We have two 163 3".

Our experience has been the same as others have noted and pictured above. The plastic is brittle and breaks. The curve also causes the snowflap to get run over when backing off a sled deck.

We went to the big PDP snowflap available through WPS.
