Which sled to go to from a Mod Tcat hillclimber

I know that its a big old heavy triple in an old chassis but it still gets it done.
Do you think that Yamaha will build a SC sled in the next year or so?
I would like a factory install.

Why the factory install you may ask,
1. Wife is tired of my excessive spending habits on snowmobiles, I have dropped between 1 and 4g's every year on my sled. Its a 520lb 190HP with excellent suspension and lots of track. If I am going to convince her that I need a new one I need to be able to say I could be more or less happy with the way it come s stock. (I know a tough order, stock suspensions aren't the best)
2. I don't like to admit it but I am 40 something and being the guy who has to make the highest mark on the hill is loosing its luster (just kinda). But I just can't give up the squeeze the happy lever pull your arms off power.

I know that a turbo or SC sled is what I would have to have if I give up my T-Cat but just can't see dropping the 5-10g's extra after the sled purchase. I am hoping that Yamaha follows there watercraft division (don't need the 1850 SC motor) but at least a SC 180HP or more stock sled. The watercraft has to be making around 300HP stock.

Not really interested in hearing about my old outdated chassis, Only part of the chassis that is stock is the bulkhead.

Its like your favorite chair doesn't matter how worn it is still your favorite place to sit and watch the game.

Take your pick---any 1000-cc Yamaha with a turbo will do the trick.
You can get them cheap ( vector RX1 )
But may as well stay current and do a Nytro or Apex up. Any stock 4 stroke Yamy you can find is usually just broken in and ready for turbo even if it has 5000 miles on it. Love my 04 TRX1 it just gets better with age and the only thing that hangs with it is another turbo 4 stroke.

Thanks guys, I am sure a turbo or SC sled is the only thing I could be happy with at this point, but putting another 25K into snowmobiling is going to be a tough sell. I just wish I could ride one so I could get hooked before dropping that kinda money on a sled.

If you ride one you better be prepared to pull out the checkbook. There is no going back to your normal sled after you ride a boosted Yamaha.

Lots of used turbo Apexes for sale with the release of the Nytro. I'd look for one of those and take it for a test ride if you can.

I pretty much only have the SC and a few light mods and don't see the need to get a new sled for awhile, too happy with it and besides nobody I ride with can help me get unstuck as it is (I'm too far up the hill, trail, etc...)

Like you I have always had the power bug..When you think of the $!-4k spent (go over your bills WITHOUT your wife looking) bet its a lot more. Thats whereI was this year BB viper lightweight EVERYTHING Bender 835 case ported big carbs bla bla bla 190 then a 45 hp shot

Rode the demo trubo nytro here in town The FIRST sled where I at first thought maybe TOO much,,by the end of the day looking for a hair more and am building a complete sled I figure the $28 -30 gs invested is close to about what I had spent over the 5 years with the viper only WITHOUT the worry of getting home,,and like you getting older and having the highmark isn't the be all and end all anymore...Now I am more into the acceleration and the ability to go where I want when I want and with no nagging worry of walking out or getting towed and running someone elses day or weekend. Like the posts above say, ride a used boosted Yami then get out the checkbook And DON'T let your wify read this LOL;)

I know its not a Nytro but found a boosted vector 225HP or so for a very reasonable price, hope he still has it when I get back from vacation. That and I still have some convincing to do, but if I am going to do it, best option I've seen yet. I have seen some Apex's in the 12.5 - 13 range but I think I could be happy with 225HP. And most all of my light weight goodies off my T-cat will fit. Holz skid, billet shocks etc. Bonus there is that stuff doesn't my T-cat worth a whole lot more but man it sure does work better. it should take off about 30-35 lbs too.

That was the sled that got me hooked a vecter front mount with a 162x 16 camo extreme....While I could climb the monster bowl in Turtle nothing like the vecter and it was effortless You WILL enjoy have fun:D
