any ideas which sled out there feels most like a dirtbike? having raced motocross and on a dirtbike for years i am looking for a second sled for ditch riding&hero snow,i have a m8 for my powder&mountain riding and looking for a light&reliable sled, does not need to be the most powerful either. i am leaning towards the phaser right now, like yamaha's reliability and a 4stroke might be something different. good choice? bad choice? any other ideas as i am open to any brand of sled.

Rev felt closest to me, M7 would be a close 2nd.

I liked all the Yami sleds, only time weight was an issue was when I was climbing or stuck... other than that they feel great, Nytro would be my choice, if I was going 4 stroke...

I likely have the closest sled to a dirt bike and I have very light dirt bike also.
Can't buy a sled like it, have to build it.
Start with lightest sled ever built with over 100 liquid HP

08 TNT 500SS (105 Hp 600) 399 lbs.

I added 16 X 137 X 1.75 track and have a dry weight of about 370 lbs,
just ordered today, Alternative Impact Ti A-Arms which should get it down
to 364 lbs. Aluminum ordered for a straight steering column, another 1 lb to 1.5 lb. etc etc.

The light weight and short track make it very fun to ride while it still has flotation of a normal weight 800 with a 16 X 150 + track. Downside waiting
for Camo to get it together and make a 16 X 137 X 2 track.

Good Luck

That would be a fun machine with a 600SDI and small turbo shoe-horned in there !!

Most like a dirtbike. My opinion would be:

1) Phazer (as its designed to mimic a bike)
2) Polaris IQR or IQRR
3) 2010 snopro 500

I used to ride dirtbikes and streetbikes. We have a 07 Phazer Mtn Lite. It handles very much like a dirtbike. But the power sucks!!!! I ride it from time to time but it has to be certain conditions to make it fun.

I see you are from IOWA. Do you ride the snowies much. Let me know and I will sell it to you cheap

My F7 has a very dirt bike feel to it...light and a ton of power!!!

Put a 144 or 151 on it and they rip..:beer;

I've heard the Nytros feel alot like a dirt bike, and i know riding the iq chassi that it reminds me of my dirt bike a lot. Either one wouldn't be a bad choice.

Surprised the Rush wasn't mentioned. Every one that I've talked to that has either ridden one or own one has equated it to riding like a dirt bike.
But having not ridden one I couldn't tell you if it does or not.

Ok i've been slacking on this thread. The snowhawk is hands down more like a dirt bike than any sled I have ever ridden, more like riding a big bore bike in the sand than on the dirt. I've been riding some type of snowmobile since 1990, I've owned at one time at least 1 model from the big 4. twins, tripple's, two-stroke's and four stroke's. Once you get past the feeling of the motor out in front of you hang-on for the ride.

I've never ridden the Hawk but I have ridden the 2-Moto. Very fun and surprisingly powerful in the snow. Not a super deep snow machine but can handle 4-8" of fresh probably. Not huge hills either but you can rip it up in the rollers and drop cornices with it that climbing big stuff wouldn't be be that necessary. If you want a dirt bike feel and you have a 450 or bigger thumper bike already and buy a track kit

This One

A sled with two skis will never feel like a dirtbike

thanks for all the responses, looks like i have to look at some of these other sleds.any other sleds i might want to look at?

that question is comparable to what quad feels like a dirtbike.....snowhawk is a snow bike ,nothing ealse close......I keep going for the rear foot brake that isint there ,just a natural reaction as I feel like its my dirtbike in snow...

Leave the sled in wyoming and ride the dirtbike at home.:face-icon-small-hap
The snow is so fricken hard here you could, and usually there is not snow. lol.
