so i should be picking up my 155 pro next week and i'm now startign to do work on my other sled, doo bcx 800. my wife will be ridign that sled so i'm putting the stock 6.9's on it which leaves me with a set of c&a xtx's. the plan was to sell them and just run the grippers on the rmk, but black is so boring. i know thats not a good reason not to run them but which ski works better? i know alot of guys run the stockers and love them. either way i'm selling one set to help pay for the new running boards.

Multiple threads on this.. The Grippers are one of the better skis on the market. I know people who have bought after market skis, and those after market skis are now hanging on the garage wall. The Grippers are that good. However, a buddy (M8Chris) bought white Powder Pros with Red Ski loops for his new Red Assault that look amazing! It really ties the sled together. Are they better than the Grippers? Who knows, its more of a personal Preference... But they look dang Good!

i ran grippers last year. Going to try CnA Mtx this year i hated the crappy rubber bushing in the grippers that would cause the ski to go vertical and me to go horzontial over the handle bars. that is the only complaint i have with the grippers.

The ca pros are great skis I've had 2 sets and have loved them ,even more so than my Simmons.

yeah i know there are a few threads but wanted one just about these skis. i'm not goign to go out an purchase p pro's or anythign else. i just have the xtx sitting on my doo right now. i'm going home tonight to take them off. so i was really just looking for opinions on how guys like the c&a on the pro and if they like it better than the gripper.

I like my XTXs more than my grippers. harder steering tho... XTXs are just a more agressive ski overall imo. You have them, might as well try them. Don't sell your grippers until you decide what you like.

so me riding in a flatlander state with the rmk, how different will the perform for the intended use of the rmk? i know that i prefer the c&a's for trail use as the agressiveness suits me better, but what does that do in the deeper snow? will it help me hold a line better? get up on snow better? i never rode my doo with the stock 6.9's, so i can't compare there either.

umm i'd say even in deep snow it takes more effort to handle with XTXs (flat turns), but then again it doesnt push as much either. I think the XTXs pop out of the snow relatively easy and float really well while moving. Its so hard to say because it really depends on the snow conditions. As for side hilling, I think the XTXs do a great job holding a line and keeping the front end up, but they're less forgiving than Grippers... Its been a while since i've had the side by side comparison tho so this is all off memory. I put my XTXs on because I like the all around agressive nature of the ski + I already had them, but I'm keeping my Grippers in case I decide I'm sick of it, jmos. :face-icon-small-coo

i agree on flat ground they take some effort, but at speed i loved them. just not sure if i need the agressiveness for this style of sled.

i have a set of simmon gen 3's coming, i will report back when i can try them out.

i don't mean to be a dick but i don't care about the simmons gen 3, all i care about is the gripper or the xtx which i already have a set of. THOSE ARE THE ONLY 2 SKIS I WIL BE USING.

Stick with the grippers. They will handle fine on the trails of pittsburg, and your arms wont be as tired at the end of the day.

red grippers

If its the black you dont like, i've seen red grippers on ebay for a pretty good price! I like grippers with the larger carbides to help in cornering, Im running Powder pro's that are way more aggressive and tire me out! Something in between would be perfect, Thanks

ya can get grippers in red, white or black. powder pros work pretty good as well but no better tnan grippers

Not to be a dick. But why the hell are you asking this question when you are going to have both skis in your possession? So instead of asking the a question that won't likely get you the answer you really want, just be smart about this and compare them for yourself.

Has anybody tried a carls cut on the gripper skis yet? Is there the same result as the powder pros.

x2 on the Mods skis

great product that comes in custom colors

X3!

I just don't get all this love for the LAME stock grippers - they suck if you ask me. Mods hold a sidehill better (less effort) and initiate carves better/turn easier. I guess when you're used to the BEST you just won't settle for less. Same has been posted by Mods users over in Backcountry Rebels so I KNOW I'm not the only one who feels this way!

Have FUN!
