I'm a recently converting Yamaha guy, so please bear with me (Long story, love Yamaha engines, they are the best, they just refuse to make a chassis that suits me and my riding style). But I really think I'm going to like the Pro RMK -- it seems it will will suit me perfectly.
Coming from Yamaha, it's always been customary for me to immediately change skis when I get my sled. But with the Pro, I'm a bit on the fence as to what to do. I've heard good and bad about the Gripper skis -- beter than anything Yammi has ever put on a stock sled, but maybe not as good as some of the choices out there.
Bottom line is I have both a set of Slydog 8's in my garage as well as some C&A XTX's. I go to the Centenial, Wyoming soon and I just want to be sure I've got the best skis on there I can.
Uusally I'd try them all out because I know how subjective skis can be on any sled. But my issue is we don't have muich of any off trail riding to be had here right now due to lack of snow.
I like playing in the trees, carving, some hill climbing, sidehilling too. I like skis that float well (I hate skis that need lots of momentum to actually float), but also want them to be able to cut a good sidehill (I know you can't have everything tho).
For you guys that ride like I do and have experience on the Pro RMK, what would you try out?
Thx a ton fellas,
Mike aka SS
