Which RPM for best power, 2010 M8

I have a 2010 M8, stock with SLP can, when I go out of the trail and nail it I see 8400-8500 max and then it drops to about 8250 almost immediately. Then it varies a bit during the run, between 8100-8300 I would say. This seems a bit high... thinking of the dyno charts from DTR etc..

Which RPMs should I aim for? I use the 046 belt, have a Ultimax XS817 as spare belt, would this drop rpms?

By the way, I did a comparison yesterday, back to back with stock can and SLP can. SLP can didn't loose any RPMs, I saw the same RPM:s with SLP as I did with the stock can.

I have the exact same thing as you, and with the slp can I run 8250, except the belt Im using is a dayco xtx , which I think is bullet proof, I have 1100 miles of 75% off trail riding, ditch banging, boondocking , deep powder pulls and hill climbing. do you have to jack yours off(throttle) at a low rpm to get it to run smooth and get a smooth engagement. also has your can gotten any louder , as mine is very quiet, Ive only have about 75 miles on the can. thanks -m-

RPM's are supposed to be between 8100-8200. I'm still not hitting those very often. I'm always about 7980,8000. Your can is not going to get any louder. SLP cans are a very quiet can compared to MBRP and HPS. Good can but theyre not gonna be any louder if thats what you are looking for.

I notice that sometimes I have to jack the throttle on low rpm:s, wonder if it is the sticking oil pump... My can got a bit louder after a while but not much louder after 75 miles... I think it's loud enough when it gets hot, not too loud but louder than stock.

Yes I have to blirp the throttle sometimes too. I think it has to do with the aftermarket can. I love my HPS can however. I'm going to my dealer tomorrow so I will talk to him about that. Other than that I love my sled. I'll do some mods this fall to it most likely to make it rip even more. You can never have to much power:D
