Which one used pro ride or axys

I am trying to decide between a 2016 axys with 160 miles standard warranty to expire next season a few extras or 2015 snow check colors not shock package with 2.5 more years of warranty and no extras other than a can. Difference is $900. I plan on keeping either one stock. What's your opinion. Worth the extra $ but no warranty? Can I purchase extended warranty and is it worth it?

Thanks

You can purchase an extended warranty plan through Polaris as long as you purchase it while original warranty is till in effect. Not the cheapest in the world to do it like that, but if it needs to be used then it could pay for itself...

With that said, I'd get the Axys over the Pro-Ride. It is that much better at everything and you can really feel the differences. I absolutely HATED the Pro-Ride chassis and therefore ran an XM. Hoped on an Axys at the beginning of this year and finally made the switch beginning or February and couldn't be more excited or stoked on the way it performs.

What are the prices if you don't mind me asking? Because if you did purchase an extended warranty after the fact, with the cost, you may end up right at cost for a brand new Axys with a standard 3-yr warranty.

After a little seat time on the Axys it left me really wanting one. Power and response is way better than my pro. Handling wise it felt similar, but I could really feel the taller boards and chassis. That would take some time getting used to. I would get the Axys without a doubt.

That's a great Price. I would go axys. No comparison to a pro in my opinion. Easier to initiate, easier to hold an edge, more power, and more responsive. Also remember that it will be worth more down the road when you sell it being a newer chassis

Axys hands down winner, it does everything the Pro ride does just easier, and the power difference alone is worth it. Pro ride is no slouch on the other hand IF there was a bigger dollar difference between the two.

Axys, not even close unless youre not riding in the mountains. Thats a better price than I've seen by far.

8800. I think it's a good price. I'm in the midwest

Right in. If you aren't going to go buy an extended warranty thru Polaris then go for it. If you are going to drop that coin, which I believe is $1700 for 3 years the. You may just look new. Can probably be OTD in about the same cost. 6 of 1 half dozen the other.

well i've been on my 11 pro for a while and love it
rode a 16 Axis (base model 155 2.6 ) all day today and well F*&%$*&@

i'm screwed ha ha i'd have to say it's better in everything i threw at it side hilling, down hill carves , fit and finish
so here's one more vote for Axis

ps if you get the pro don't ride an Axis :face-icon-small-win

Have had my Axys for 6 weeks now. Came off a Dragon and Pro, which I only rode about 8 times. First few rides I needed to adjust/learn a few things on the Axys. Two weekends ago rode in 2-3 feet of new snow. I was like a kid on Christmas Day!!! Buy the Axys, used or new, does not matter. You will be over the top happy!! Makes us old guys look good. LOL!!

Isn't Polaris offering an additional 1 year warranty extension on the 2016 Axys if you keep the miles under 300 by the end of March or April? If you decide to go with the Axys, I would look into it before you buy it, case it's not transferable to the second owner.

Not sure on the full details. I bought a new axys 2 months ago. Dealer told me if I don't over 300 miles by March 31, that I can bring sled back to dealer and they will take picture of mileage and vin number and send it to Polaris to receive an extra year of bumper to bumper warranty. That's all I know about it.

They are now offering a "Delayed Warranty". Buy now and warranty ends 12mos after 12/1/16.

I owned '13 and '14 Pro's. I sprung for the Axys last November and it is head and shoulders better than the old Pro.

The motor is smoother and the instant power is addictive. It gets and stays on the snow much better and feels 50 lbs lighter when riding it. The Axys is a HUGE improvement and worth any extra money.

Mine has run perfect, hasn't seen the dealer for anything but a-arms. I am closing in on 1000 mtn miles this season.

I would save the warranty money and put it in an Indy Dan rebuild fund. He has done $2500 rebuilds in past summers, a screaming deal with a warranty. The rest of the sled seems pretty solid to me.

Thanks for all the info! I contacted dealer and they did say there is an additional one year warranty if I bring it in under 300 miles. Problem is they guy just upped his price to 9300. Said his payoff is that and can't go less. Need to decide if it's worth it.

My local dealer did say though guys were complaining that it's only a deep powder sled and summit would be better for the upper peninsula. I'm coming from a ancient 2003 summit 800 h.o. I'm not brand specific but man I wish I had a chance to demo one. Last time I tried the summit it was a 2010 and found it to be decent but not impressed enough to upgrade.

Thanks to everyone for the replies.

not what my dealer said

Polaris calls the program "terrain domination challenge Ride guarantee".

I asked my dealer about this, he called Polaris, and said they told him it was for flatland sleds back east bought by end of nov. and the new axys I bought first of march didn't qualify, that's what he told me maybe he was just giving me some B.S. story

i have a 15 sks (standard ltd) and a 16' axys pro. 90% of my riding is done in the U.P., I also have access to a 15 summit and freeride.

summit/freeride go down the trail better. when i swapped sleds with buddy i was surprised his summit went down the trail pretty good...but couldn't stand them in the deep stuff. offtrail the 15'rmk was better to me and the axys was step above the pro...but they ain't breaking 70mph much on the trail.

if i was deciding between the pro-ride chassis and the axys, its not even a hard decision. there hasn't been a person that tested my axys out who disliked it, including my doo riding buddies.
