Motor in the viper blew. What newer sled will have the same POP or better than a piped viper? Viper ran really good, would lift the skis at a touch of the throttle. Which new sled will have the samepop in stock setup? Nytro, Poo or Doo? Just can't go green. Don't want to have to change from stock.

Coming off a piped Viper, I hate to say it but you will not like a stock 4 stroke. Not enough power to satisy you. You don't want a green one so that leaves the 800 poo or doo. Either will have the type of power you are used to in a stock sled. They do handle night and day different. I would strongly suggest you ride a day on each before you chose one. The doo is a love it or hate it type of thing. The cat and poo ride and handle very similar. Good luck with your choice.

One of my riding buddies came of the same sled with pipes onto a 09 m1000 and thinks there was no better choice. My findings are the 09 and newer m8's are the best in general of the 800's not to say I havent see them beat because I have. But if you wont go there I would highly recommend a 09 or newer xp. I have only see a few that empressed me and well tuned xp will beat a ordinary m8 but if both are running top notch the m8's seem to take it over all. I have yet to see a newer poo that would keep up with a doo or cat. 4 strokes stock wont cut it either.

LMAO.;)

I think it is all rider preference really.

rider pref is a huge factor, I used to be a hard core doo guy and switched the same time my hard core cat friend switch to doo and now niehter one of us will go back and he is the closest to beating me. The d8's are heavy and trench but they are fun to ride at times. I have had a edge chassis 800 give me more of a run than a d8.

change the track on the D-8 and clutch it right and you will be surprised..the track is the biggest drawback on the D-8..as far as which to buy..ride them all and buy the one that feels right..all of the new sleds are good and all need dialed for your conditions and style......

Thanks for the input.
what will hold together for 7yrs and 6000 miles with only routine maintance?

Thats simple go green. They are the only ones that have proven there sleds to be reliable in the last few years. But sense you don't want a cat you might not get the reliability you want.

Nobody has mentioned a D7 yet. I think that would be a great sled as well with the reliability. Older and smaller but still a good sled for a 7.

Just can't go green.

Your really just jammin yourself here. I know it's rider preference but if you are looking for a newer sled to run 6000+ miles you will come closest to finding that with the M7 or M8.

I have beat a d8 on low boost with diff skid with my NA m1000, I like the d8 but in reality its just not up to pair kinda a few years behind in my opinion. I did have one freind that had a d7 and said it would beat his 07 rev 800.???

if you want reliability go with a heavy 4 stoke yami or a m7-m8 thats your option when it comes to that.
