2017+ crf450r or crf450rx.

Whats your budget? If you go non EFI then get a 450x. (05-17). EFI is better but more money. 17+ I dont see a reason to buy the x. Get the R or RX and put a larger fuel tank and E start on it and its one of the best bikes on the market.

he ended up getting a new kx 250. i know it wont work for a snow bike but it will be better for his type of riding

Depends on you kids weight. We ran a 250 four stroke for a season and it got around … it just lives high in the powerband.
