Which belt for a 1000

I have a 09 and the 060 lasted 3x longer than the 046. The 046 slips the 060 has more grip. From what I found on all the 09's I ride with all say the 060 is better. Clutching should not slip in the real world.

If you do a search you will find a lot of discussion on this. The general consensus on here is the 046 is the better belt, because the 060 has a tendency to explode with no warning. An 046 is a harder compound and will slip more, but most have found it lasts longer and gives lots of warning when it goes bad. As a general rule an 046 will raise your shift RPM about 200 rpms.

I exploded 2 046's last year around 100 miles and have 2 060's with over 400 miles and still work as spares.

mines a 2008 sno pro dont know any difference in clutches between 08 to 09 but my 046 lasted almost 1600 miles was lucky for sure.

I run the 046's. That's what was recommend for the 07 M1000. I have tried the 060's. I never seen a real RPM drop until the belt was hot and got sticky. Then it would really pull the RPM's down. Then blow up.

So for $30/ea less I run the 046's.

I plan to try another 060 now that I have the clutching more dialed in and extra motor mounts to maintain alignment.
