Where's the BEST place to stay in Cooke City???

cooke

grizzly pad cafe has a nice newer cabin, the alpine also has a nice BIG room, ask for the room with the kitchen.

we stayed at super 8 next to Bear Cat Bobs and we had the best time, he will garage your sled for 10$ a night and help you with any problems you might have plus ,Terry his mate(woman) will fill your belly in the morning or at noon with a home made meal to die for. this guy knows the area and is one of the sar guys so he can tell you where to NOT go.never been there before and very glad to have the knowledge he was free to give.also definitely give the gas station Sinclair the biz. look at there web site awesome.

I been going the last three years had good luck at the elk horn feb is a good time to go cooke thats when I go.Always have good snow but definately go to the sinclair nice people. have fun

cat house bob

i have not been to cooke for a few years but CAT HOUSE BOB is a good guy!
great knowlege of the area and always willing to help.
dont pay any attention to the local politics!

I can agree more Steve at the Sinclair is one of the nicest guys you will EVER meet!

Bear Claw Bob's breakfast is AMAZING, and the hospitality in the entire town was AWESOME!!!

I was just there over Xmas, and we stayed at Soda Butte lodge. I would shy away from that if possible, the rooms are rather small for 4 people, and they are a little dated. But it was a good place to sleep!!!

Don't be afraid of the Alpine Motel. LSB on the forum and family run the place and the rooms are super clean and they are very accomidating.

Alpine or Sinclair..

Alpine has some pretty nice suetes, and Sinclair has cabins.. both are very nice.

Elkhorn, nice personal attention, and you get some sleep not like party centrals: Soda Butte and the Alpine.

wow thats not a reputation I think Ive ever heard about us (the Alpine) :). We are usually the first to involve the authorities etc with rowdy guests. Im also proud to have been a part of this years developing of the new snowmobiler etiquette campaign to promote better behavior by snowmobilers. Hell and nobody wants to be getting loud and wake up Gerlie ;). Now for the rest of your comment I will agree Susie at the Elkhorn runs a nice place. I can also agree with most of the other statements in this thread.

There are many good options in Cooke for lodging. Just make sure you stay somewhere that helps the community. Also dont be afraid to visit the Exxon station. Rick and Susan do as much for this community as anyone, especially behind the scenes.

Super 8, Sinclair, Bear Claw Bob's. Or better yet try them all and make your own choice's. Just support the ones that give something back to the sport and have a great time.

ummmmmmm, speak for yourself roberto. :D;)

btw, did she miss her dancing partner this new years? did the bar overstock with limon and crown? we shoulda called ahead and told them we werent gonna make it this year, now i'm sure they have well over a year supply!

and yes... the alpine is the place to stay. you cant go wrong with any place IMO in cooke, the most snowmobile friendly town anywhere, whether it be food, gas, lodging or beers!
