Where to; stay/rent/ride

Hi All,
Lifetime sledder here, but a newbie to the board.
Planning a trip for a couple of friends and myself to come up from the states and enjoy a little of your Canadian Powder! We're not much for extended trail riding, rather boondocking, hill climbing and drift busting.
I've been searching around for some time, and it looks like the Revelstoke area is the premier spot for powder, terrain and scenery..?
I've also found a few places that rent sleds and several choices for lodging.
We will likely fly into Kelowna and rent a car. Would we be better off to rent snowmobiles in Kelowna and pull them up, or rent them locally in the area we intend to ride?
As far as lodging, nothing fancy, just a decent bed, good meal and somewhere close by for a cold one at the end of the day. Additional options for evening activity would be a slight plus, but not necessary.
Any and all input greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance-

If you are coming to Revy book your room NOW !!!!!!!!!

Hotels are booking up because of tour companies are taking rooms for skiers.

Staff at hotels say they are booking for Saturdays but Fridays and Sundays are open.

Mark @ Revy Snowmobile Tours rents out sleds and guides, I would recomend him just for the "entertainment factor";) http://www.revelstokecc.bc.ca/rst/contact.htm

Zalas has great meals & atmosphere and is a corporate sponsor of Revelstoke Snowmobile Club.
I DO NOT support restraurants or hotels who don't support the club.

You can contact Kathy for a list of sponsors: revyroofrepair@rctvonline.net

You will have a blast and end up coming back every year.:D

you can stay at glacier house, right at the bottom of 2 mountains! ride right from your room/cabin, and they rent sleds as well. it is about 5 minutes out of town, no biggy. i've stayed there several times, and have always liked it. also, since you will be renting a car, moving the sleds everyday could be a hassle, thus another good reason to stay at glacierhouse. here's their website

Hi, I do sled rentals for Sicamous and surrounding areas. This is how I usually work it unless other plans are made. I deliver the sleds to the staging area for customers, fueled up and ready to go. When your done your ride at the end of the day, I pick the sleds up, take em home, (hopefully not having to replace to many broken parts) bring them back the next morning if you choose. My sleds are kept in top shape and your choice of M8’s, XRS doos, or XP doo’s. depending on availability
There is awesome riding here also with lots of great places to stay. Just a suggestion.
