Wondering what a cheaper area is near Aspen to stay for X Games. Hotels.com lists everything near there from $500-$2500 a night. Too rich for my blood. You locals know anywhere that is sub $200/night and within 60 miles?

Try Glenwood Springs, Basalt, Buena Vista or Leadville. Those are the closest places and it really isn't that long of a drive from any of them. Or you can do what a lot of other folks do! Haul your camper up there and crash in a parking lot!

Buena Vista or Leadville are not a option unless you wanna drive 3-4 hours at least. Glenwood, NewCastle, Silt, Rifle, worst case Grand Junction that is about 2 hours to Aspen.

For $2500 a night that better include a fully stocked bar and a minimum of 2 prostitutes. Im talkin classy ones that still have more than half thier teeth.

Holy chit Tom. That's spensive. Can I come? All I need for the trip is money, a ride, some new clothes (maybe a new 509 hoody), and a chit load of budweiser. It could be a tax write off for 509 films just say i'm the bodyguard

You gonna fend off the little 10 year olds and midgets?

Chit Tom that's some serious ching to sleep. I have buds going, but they are lucky enough to have friends that live about 30 minutes from Aspen.

for 2500 bucks i will dig you a snow cave in the front yard and loan you a -40 bag, then in the morning you can traverse Cement Creek and american flag Mtn's. and have front row seat at the on mountain ice bar.

glenwood springs is your best bet, but im sure they are booked or prices are through the roof too. when we went down the first time we stayed there. The next year we had a roommate who's house was literally right on the snocross track (we were watching the action from the living room). That was the trip of a lifetime... have a great time down there and make sure you film some of those crazy chics that wear bikinis under their coats and like to flash people...

also an FYI for you as the owner of 509 productions you should have applied to ESPN for media access passes. Then you can go backstage with all the athletes and attend all the cool parties... dont forget next year...

I already have a pass. I'm a mechanic :D

Quite possibly the biggest and best 4 days of my life. I was lucky enough to have friends going to school right in Aspen a few years ago so we had a place to stay. Soooo many snowbunnies, cold beer and free swag it was sick. As for the $2500/ night their (the hotels) are only off on their prices by about $500 a night. That place is very exspensive ALWAYS! Just wait till it takes 20min to get a $6 Bud Light at the bar if you are lucky enough to get in....................:D

Is it possible to take Hwy 24 and exit to 82 straight to Aspen from Buena Vista? Instead of going all the way around to Hwy 70. It looks pretty close unless the big loop shown by Mapquest is the only way to get there.

is parsons competing this year? should be great again this year!

Yea, he qualified for freestyle and speed & style.

Not during the winter, Independence Pass is closed.... As stated, Glennwood Springs is probably your best bet.

yeah get footage of the chicks!!

you'll have plenty of time, Parsons rides a Poo so you won't need to fix anything.
