Where is a good place to stay between Burley ID and Bishop CA for one night ... hotel with 4 kids between the ages of 6-14? Coming from California up thru Nevada from Bishop California

Prefer to be at Burley than Bishop for the night.

THANK YOU

depending on how far you wanted to drive on the first leg. There is Jackpot Nevada. It is right on the border of Nevada and Idaho. Its about 1 1/2 hours this side of Twin falls Idaho on higheay 93. 2 Casinos and a gas station is pretty much the whole town. Room rated are pretty cheap if you stay across the street and not at the main Casino tower. Both casinos are run by the same people so you just tell them you want to stay across the street when you call to make reservations. Clean rooms for a place to crash for the night and there is a small coffee shop for breakfast or dinner in the main casino. It is roughly 7 hours from Reno pulling a trailer for me. Elko or winnemucca are your best bet if you are trying to split the drive in half. they would have a little more options as far as places to stay Wells is another place it is literally just past the turnoff for Highway 93 that heads up to Idaho so you would have to backtrack a few miles on I-80 to get back to the junction of I-80 and US 93 you can see the town of Wells from the junction

I drove thru Jackpot Nevada a booming place.

Ended up using Priceline's last minute deal and got about 60% off:face-icon-small-ton

So to hijack my own topic ... how far do they drill to get water in the middle of nowhere?

Yes booming place for sure HeHe. However from here it is a great place to stop on the way to St Anthony’s sand dunes out of Rexburg ID or Island park ID. I am always amazed places like that still exist solely on the basis of the mines and gambling junkets with an occasional wiry traveler
Good Question Never really thought about it :face-icon-small-ton. They may have bought water rights from the Salmon Creek Res. which is north of Jackpot across the border and have it piped in. Since they are at +5200 above sea level it would have to be pretty deep to hit any of the aquifers if they are on well water that is for sure.
