Where to ride near Breckenridge, CO

Wondering if anyone knows of good spots to ride near Breckenridge, CO. Going to be skiing for a week and bringing the sleds. Looking for both on trail as well as some back country. If you know a local guide for back country, that would be great too.

Thanks!

There's nothing to ride here... it sucks really.

When are you coming, and what kind of riding you gonna be doing, what kinda sled you got? Where you coming from? (Yeah, I ask a lot of questions... always got me in trouble in school:face-icon-small-sho)

Coming from MN first week of Feb. We'll bring all short tracks, F8, F6... I may pick up a Crossfire before then, but we'll see. Based on the snow so far, I am guessing we'll mostly be on the trails. However I could see renting long tracks for a day of powder if it is awesome.

Any tips you can provide on where to go is appreciated. If not immediately in the Breck area, what is good if we travel a little ways?

Just giving you crap, there's a number of places to ride. Tiger road, freemont pass, vail pass... you'll find stuff to ride, and there's plenty of snow.

If you're looking to trail ride... you're coming to the wrong place though. We've got "trails" but not the kind of network that you're used to. Also, riding down the trails at midwest speeds around here is likely to get you run into by some renter or a mountain rider that doesn't think about watching for a 60 mph rider coming down the trail!

If you're jumpers, I'd be glad to show you around a bit, there's actually quite a few guys around here that are jumpers that ride race sleds, and get around just fine. I ride a "short track" for around here, got a 141 2.25 that does great, just about to get another new 141 sled this week actually.

If you really do want to ride trails, I'd really recommend going up to grand lake, they've got a good trail system for trail riders. Vail pass isn't bad either I guess, but you'll get bored quick just riding trails.
