Where to ride in Colorado?

Would like to make a trip soon, who has the best snow? The forecast looks promising throughout the entire area. Vail, Buff, Rabbit ears???

Any pics would help for motivation!

What about Grand Lake?

You can ride your sled (legally!) in town and to/from the trails and backcountry. We have a very good Polaris Dealer (Spirit Lake) in town, just in case you need a part or two while your here. And 'Power World' (Artic Cat & SkiDoo) are 15 miles away in Granby. Plenty of lodging in town, hotels, condos, cabins, and houses to rent. And lots of good places to eat/drink.

How's the snow???

I would love to go to Togwotee, just not excited to drive 14hrs...lol

I'm dedicated, not desperate

We certainly do not have a 60" base here in GL yet, but it did snow quite a bit here this weekend, and it's snowing again right now (Monday morning). I got one report on Saturday of 4' of fresh up in the higher areas here,so people are riding here. I have not seen it for myself yet, but I'm planning on taking a run tomorrow. I'll be able to make a better, more informed report after that. The local groomers have a web site (http://grandlaketrailgroomers.com/status/) that has a reliable trail report.

I would sure like to see where 4 feet of new snow is here in the state now. Sure are not any snotels showing close to that. We were over I-70 last night and it was down right stupid how little snow there was.

I've seen a post or two on Snowest (can't remember where) that the Winter Park area got 2-3 feet this weekend as well. So it makes sense to me that Blue Ridge could have close to 4'... I'm checking it out for myself tomorro. And by the way, it's been snowing all day here in GL, so even if it there wasn't 4' on Saturday, there might be by tomorro. I'll let you know. :face-icon-small-hap

The snow aint good ANYWHERE in Colorado. Togwotee is a different story. 60"+ base.............Butta is up there right now and sent me a pic of DEEP SNOW!

I dunno, I was just balls to chest deep in Colorado about 60 miles from Denver yesterday...

The whole group got stuck atleast once and we had 12 sleds on snow ( =

nope...no good snow up by RE/Buff pass

haha

not my pic....VOHK crew out enjoying the fresh

TOG was deep though...three times that for sure!

Good to know, I think I'm probably going to try to head up there for a few days before Christmas if I could ever get this damned sled put back together :face-icon-small-con

Dizz, you guys are brave. That snow depth on the Mesa and we would have destroyed most of the sleds in the group :face-icon-small-ton:face-icon-small-ton. Of course the Mesa needs twice as much snow as everybody else due to the ROCKS.

We need to hook up this year. Well meet at TML

On a side note. What happened to Wolf Creek?? Last year epic, this year tropical. Bummer

Sam

Re/Buff is getting there but when you can see the tops of 3' tall willows and your sinking in 2', well, you do the math. lol Keep your skis in the air!
