Where to ride around Boulder?

Attending my sisters wedding in Boulder in January, so of course we're bringing the sleds. We've never rode in CO before so looking for any suggestions that are relatively close to Boulder. Preferrably someplace easily accessible and easy to get around in, at least for our first trip out. We ride off trail and are mainly boondockers. Any info is much appreciated.

From Claissa, I had an old lady pull in front of me on my bike heading back to Colorado there. I agree with. You will be able to hook up with a number of people at Pearl Street Mall.

If its snowed recently, Rollins Pass isn't too bad, but you really need to drive to get to anything decent. Most of the good areas on the front range are wilderness...

Some great advice on here!!!

Wait till there's snow, then most of us smartazzez will be busy riding instead of telling you where to go for the nearest dispensary!!

All this talk about the fun haters in Boulder is just adding to my suspicion that my sister's fiance' is turning her into a liberal nut job. Already lost one sister that way. (she now drives a prius and bought carbon offsets for her plane ticket)Thanks for the advice, we'll probably just wing it when we get out there, thats what we normally do anyway. How much for the non-resident sticker? And any good sledder friendly eating /drinking establishments to give my money to?

ZachCreek, You shoulda flagged down the local law when that lady cut you off in Clarissa, the cops are very good at what they do around here, or so I hear anyway.

Does Boulder even allow its residents to own a snowmobiles? There bad for mother earth....dont ya know!

They have pedal versions. If you think your sled is too heavy now.....

If you're hauling your steel that far, you will probably want to travel some more as others stated to find riding you will enjoy.

Oh I did, cause I t-boned her with a semi behind me. 84 years old, kind of felt sorry for her. towns people and cops were great. Loaded my bike on a trailer to take it to Alex for repair and me to the hospital. Would not that a dime for helping. I am from Minn and that is what they are talking about when they say Minnesota Nice.....When you come out, I know that someone will invite you out. We are just a bunch of smart Azz'z.....:face-icon-small-coo

JD, I would have to agree with Zach, Most of us on here are total smart azz's. You will have to drive 45 min to an hour to get to anything decent. Once the time is a little closer just shoot a post on here and you will get plenty of insight and ppl to guide you in the right direction.

Try the snowy range a couple hours north in WY, Jones pass or Vail Pass for starters.

Thanks for throwing my back yard in there... we need more people there, especially since we just lost 3/4 of our terrain as of 2 weeks ago.:face-icon-small-fro

Muddy creek lot at Rabbit ears... the ONLY place to ride.
