I imagine the liability exposure for anyone renting beacons would be pretty high and that is why they are hard to find.

Have to agree with Darren, buy a good one---tracker 2 would be my choice. Learn how to use it also, we took Mike Duffy's outdoor course Fri morn; incredibly eye opening.
