where to hook up a 12v plug

Hey guys

ok so i want to run a plug for my GPS and i know there is a plug under the hood of my 05 900 fusion but not sure what i am looking for

also could you guys post some pics of how you mounted the plugs and where and what type to buy

I have been told and read that on these sleds when doing that the power is uneaven, but by putting the bat there you get an even current.

And also have read that these sleds have bad wiring if and by doing it this way with the Diode it will stop anything from back feeding.

I'm gonna take a stab at why this works. This is only speculation!

But, you can use the 12 volt source above without a battery for charging purposes. Think about it, you are replenishing the battery in your cell-phone and GPS.

Now with something that has no power source of its own that needs a constant current in order to run, you need something stable such as an additional battery. Take your lights for example. When you are running down the trail or up in the rpm range they are pretty bright and stay pretty bright. But when you are just idling they are not "as bright"(most of the time). The capacitor in your sled does a good job for the sources on the sled already but the more you add the more it will drain before you hit the throttle again.

Hope this makes a little sense.

Luba how much was the 12v kit??

If the only disadvantage to the kit is that you need to have batteries in the gps so it runs while the machine is off i dont see this as a problem really

so a guy would need to use a 12volt battery right... i have a few rc car batteries that are 7.2v 4000mah (10c discharge rate) didnt think it would work just curious small and light
