2500 MILES ON THE SLED... NEEDS NEW TOP END AND MOTOR MOUNT... SO TIME TO GET THE CRANK DONE(NEW BEARINGS/GREASE)

Who have you used and what kind of prices can I expect?

2006 800 Summit.

Can they assemble the entire bottom half?

Not necessarily the least expensive... needs to be Quality work.

IMHO - call Big John at Sled Head Racing (612) 718-3861, he can do just your crank or he'll do the whole bottom end, it's up to you. He also carries the MCB 2 ring pistons as well.

I can only tell you who I have used in the past and had success with

2)PPP in Idaho Falls
3)Northern Crankshaft in MN

I will try JJ machinery next time since they are close..

As for the 2 ring SPI/MCB CHINESE pistons. They WILL fail under hard mountain riding conditions.. I can not tell you how many customer I have that use those and then end up buying a COMPLETE new engine due to the catastrophic failure.. when they go..they really go!! I would strongly advise against ANY chinese piston especially if you ride the mountains.. If you ride the flats.. they seem to hold up OK.. in the mountains.. Not so successful.. Just like almost anything made in China..

As of a cpl yrs ago a reman crank from Doo was about $400+ exchange.

I can't imagine fussin' with it elsewhere for that? Just order from your local Doo dealer.

Reman from skidoo is not that cheap anymore. I just had mine done from jj machinery, all bearings, greased, seals, rods, rod bearings. Shipped out today, so hopefully post up pics friday.

i got a 01 800 crank from doo last year, 500 plus a 200 core that they get back to you at their leisure. it took them 4 months to get my core money back. not sure what the price diff is for your sled
