Looking at universities to go to and wondering what schools have good sledding around, and a at least decent sledding community. I want to go to Uvic (Victoria) really bad, but I couldnt see there being any sledding there thats worth while, im sure I could find some stuff if I was willing to drive a couple hours though. Really want to here peoples thoughts about that area, I would be willing to make some weekend trips for the good mountains and snow. Also wondering what other schools in BC or AB (Also consider other parts of canada) that would be a good school that also have good riding. The school also needs to be a fun school with lots of things going on. I also forgot to mention Im thinking about going into some sort of engineering, or possibly welding, I havnt got my plan for that dailed in yet!
It also needs to be a university not a college.

Montana State University

Thats where my sister goes to school, which is why I wont be going there I know how much is costs, living in Canada to go to school in the states costs way to much money to do without a goo reason (unfortunately sledding isn't one). Looking for places in Canada guys!

OUC in K-town....they are hooked up with UBC for many degree programs these days....wish it was that way when I went to school.

UBC, BCIT, or SFU in Van is just as close to sledding as Kelowna....just further from home for you.

I bet Calgary or Lethbridge would be cheaper than either of those ^ 2 options, and you're kind of close to the east Kootenay's sledding. Wouldn't be my first choices.

Van, Calgary, or Kelowna would all be lots of fun.....lots of young people, good partying, etc.

If you go for welding....Selkirk College in Nelson has a program, and if you're from the Kootenay's I'm sure you know the sledding here.

Yeah im not worried about going farther from home, actually Id like to live somewhere else just for the experience, also id like to go somewhere bigger then selkirk once again just for the experiance. Calgary and kelowna both interest me, along with Vancouver but its really expensive to live there.

Good thinking...that's what I did, and even though I moved back to Nelson after a few years it was totally worth it to live in a bigger centre for awhile.

I think your biggest challenges in Vancouver would housing cost plus the cost of storing your sled and parking your pickup somewhere.

OUC in Kelowna is actually called UBC-Okanagan now and has a full engineering faculty. I think that's a great option as well as TRU in Kamloops. You can't do a full engineering degree there they transfer you to UBC-O to finish it. They do have one of the top trades schools in the province though if you decide on welding. Kamloops also has tons of riding within 45min to 1.5 hrs.

Im thinking UBC-O is the best looking option, the kind of know the area and it seems like a nice place, lots of mountains around, water, dirtbike track, just seems pretty good overall :D We will see when the time comes.

TRU in Kamloops... Good riding in the OK area, only 1.5 hours from Clearwater, 2.5hours from Blue River, 3.5 to Valemount.
Decent housing pricing with all the big city amenities.
