Where to draw power from on TRX1

I am getting decently far into my turbo rx motor in my doo chassis swap. its going pretty good, now I just need to know where to draw switched power for my electric fuel pump and gauges. I have the whole wiring harness out and about, so i can find everything pretty easy, I just need to know how to hook it up and all, never done any wiring on sleds before. any info, and even stuff thats a tad redundant, go for it, type away, im trying to learn as much as possible, dont want to break this thing before it starts.

i used headlight power for the fuel pump because it shuts off when the motor dies so it dosnt keep pumping fuel as for gauges i used the key power.

Use a relay that gets its power from the battery and then turn the relay on using the blue/white wire (headlights as stated above).

perfect, and seing as im only going to be running a sinlge fog light on the bars or something, that should work out perfect for me.

thanks for the input!

alright, back to the wiring now and i have a question or two about it.

so the headlight sockets have a yellow green and black wire. im assuming black is ground and yellow and green are some combo of hi/lo.... so should i just wire both together, i was worried that if i hook to high or low then bump the light switch it would kick em off. not sure if wiring em together is an issue figured i would just ask.

If you are just going to run a single headlight you can set it up by tying the green and yellow together. This will eliminate the high low switch but your fuel pump will stay ruuning all the time instead of turning off when you accidently hit the high beam switch (ask me how I know this LOL).If you do this the high beam indicator will be on all the time but it doesnt hurt anything. For sure run your fuel pump by running a power wire directly to the battery thru a relay and fire the relay off the headlights. When your sled stalls in a rollover the fuel pump will shut off and not fill your intercooler with gas. While you are in there wire in a bypass switch that allows you to run the fuel pump without the sled running by going around the relay. This comes in handy when you have had the carbs off and need to fill the bowls. It really saves your starter and battery and takes nothing to do. Post some pics.

Good info M5!
thanks a ton M5!!! i will go and get a relay one of these next few days, and yes, i am going to run a sinlgle headlight just incase i end up in the dark. so there getting tied together. and avioding the headlight switch hitting issue was EXACTLY what i was trying to avoid.

i like the bypass setup to as that seems like it could also be helpful if sled has been sitting for a while, add some pressure and should help quick starting.

as far as pics, check out performance/modified, i always post pictures in my thread.

alright, one more quick queston, so where is this blue/white wire to tie into, i got a relay rigged up for my fuel and oil pump and its hooked to the battery, just need a trigger wire.

Just hook the relay trigger wire directly to the green/yellow combo and run the fuel pump power from the battery through the relay to the fuel pump. The green/yellow will only be hot when the sled is running so it works as the trigger.

The blue/white wire can be found coming right out of the fuse box that would sit just above the chaincase on an Apex/RX/RS series sled.

and would i wire the ground straight back into the battery or into a chassis ground?

thanks for all the help guys, making this project a lot easier as i dont have to figure every little detail out the hard way!
