where to attach straps for lifting sled w/ crane

Anyone out there that uses a crane to lift their sleds onto a deck? Where do you lift from? My first thought was to put a long piece of plywood under the track and then put my strap under the track and try and find the sling point where the sled balances. Then run some smaller straps to the front and rear bumpers to keep it stable. But it looks like a strap under the track may pinch/bend the running boards when you lift up...

my ramp is fine (as fine as a 8ft ramp up onto a sled deck in a lifted truck can get:)) its just my sled is sitting in the back of the shop right under my crane/lift and it seems easier than dry loading on the sled deck...

case

in that case id hoist it out into the free space and clean it up. be nice to get a good under side look at it. if your nervous about the rear bumper, you could lock the brake and cradle the strap under the track near the back?

ive seen them lifted by the handlebars... dont know if its the best idea, but ive seen it done and it was quite well balanced

i thought about that too but seems like its asking to bend or loosen something up on the steering..

you're definitely over thinking this one. rear bumper and front spindles. done it several times for summer loading.

I have a loft in my shop that i store my sleds in. I use a crane to pick up the sleds. Typically it is a 10 foot pick.

I used a sling i made out of nylon webbing. I loop the sling around the handlebar mounts\gooseneck and than attatch my chain to the sling. Works real good.

Throw a strap around the steering stem just below the the bars. I have'nt seen a sled the it did not work with.
