Where do I start?

I went out for the 1st time this season, and come back with 2 issues on the 900. The beast starts right up, but doesn't stay charging at idle. If I keep the rpm's up around 3000+ it will only charge half way. Didn't really want to run as well as it usually does on hills. The snow was pretty deep (3-4 feet) was hoping for a bad connection somewhere, or loose/bad connection. Or do I start testing the stator? Second issue was a very large rock on the lower a-arm. Ouch, it's hard to not play hard when your in the deep snow. That just reminded me; it's early in the season! Any ideas would be helpful.

you more than likely have a bad capacitor, just had this happen on my brothers 9. he replaced the regulator and it didn't fix it, replaced the capacitor and all is good.

here is the part number from babbitts

SKU: 4011114
CAPACITOR $57.95

I am getting ready to put a set of Fabcraft arms on mine. You can have my old set if you want? The lower left has a tweak in it from a stump last year, but idk if it may be better than what you have?

Thanks for the imput Biggdawg. I ordered a new capacitor. The manual doesn't really cover the capacitor very well. Paramuir, the capacitor is located on the front of the gas tank, under the hood.
