When to relearn waste gate?

Totally boost newb question here to bare with me.

When does one need to relearn the waste gate? Meaning what are the conditionss or symptoms that one would look out for to recognize?

I recently removed and reinstalled the pipe on my 25 boost to install a backwoods front bumper. Part of that is to take the wastgate valve off the pipe so you can pull the pipe. My assumption is a simple removall and reinstall in the same position does not require a recalibration but it got me thinking. So hoping folks smarter and more experienced than me can shed some light and educate me.

Thanks.

I would relearn it. Why leave anything on the table. We do ours every couple hundred miles with EZLynk as well as the ex valves.

Yeah but whats the worst that can happen if you don't want to spend the money on the EZLynk? Just removing a component, be it the waste gate or EV assembly and re-installing it shouldn't require any changes to calibrations on the ECU should it?

I got my boost pipe Cerakoted and removed my waste gate. Both from the pipe and off the actuator rod.

I took it to my dealer and asked if it needs a relearn. They said it doesn't have a memory and as long as you didn't mess with the actuator position, it'll be fine and doesn't need a relearn.

3xx miles later and still making full boost with no relearn needed
