When did the REV debut?

I just noticed this add on craigslist. What year did the REV chassis debut?

I don't think the Rev was official at the start of the 03 year, and was 'officially' released to public as an 03.5 model.

There may have been '03 Race chassis Revs..

All the Revs were also short tracks the first year (1/2 year)...

Thats what I can remember w/o researching it myself. :P

That would be an 03 and not a rev chassis

I dunno. I don't see an RER button. On the ZX chassis it was on the side, not on the bars, but those aren't the best pics either.

I'm gonna move this into the Doo Section where you might get more info.

The short track REV actually hit the snow for dealer demos in the 2002 season, with full production and consumer release beginning the 2003 year. I do believe the summits were 2003 1/2's.

I am rather certain that my 03 SummitX had the hand and thumb warmer switches on the console not the bars, and I know it was (or should have been) an 03 as I bought a new 05 rev (still have) and the holdover 03 together. I will need to check on that serial # next time I am at my buddies, he still rides that tank, damn thing runs good once you get the cold blooded beast started for the first time in the day.

'03 was the 1st year of the MXZX 440 Rev. The pro teams were running that chassis in the open class the winter before.

Rev Summit was released mid season of 02'-03'. Select dealers got the Orange 800 Summits in late Jan of 03'. Saw the first one in West Yellowstone, they were setting it up for SnoWest as a matter of fact.
