Just wondering how long you get out of a backpack?

mines starting to rip the straps out of the top only after 2 years.:(

but i probably pack too much crap with me.

so just was curious what everyone else gets for life.

I am on my third Klim nakpac in three years. Good thing they warranty their sh*tty products. When the day comes that they don't warranty it I will be shopping else where.

I've had my Klim pack for 5 years. Still in great shape, and it's stuffed full. :)

Third backpack in three years. I'm still looking for the "the perfect pack" so I buy a new one every year, but all three look brand new since I use them to carry my camera and lenses.

Using the same one four eight years.
Lano

this is what i used before, held up great, just wanted to have seperate packs. So I tried out the S.O.S. pack to see how it did, love it besides the this, but i have been know to be hard on stuff. lol

LIFETIME!

Try buying a better (USA) built pack and I'm sure they will make thru more than one season. I have more miles with more weight in my Kifaru pack than I care to remember. Lifetime guarantee and not some crap *ss "lifetime of the product" guarantee. I'm talking you drag it behind your truck and they will fix it for free. THE best costumer service I have ever experienced!

I've been using the same Dakine Heli-Pro for over 6 years including summer use(hiking, fishing, ect.). I have a new BCA pack on order but only because of the airbag, otherwise I'd keep using my current pack.

Mystery Ranch makes some really nice backpacks as well but they're $$$.

DaKine, had the same one for 5 years and still in great condition and i use this pack year round for countless other activities

Your not the only one with an SOS who has straps ripping out. Buddy of mine had his on for five min and a bottom strap ripped out, you could see where the stitch was and it had just barely hit the strap, pretty much missed completely. He had to get his mom to resew both bottom straps, used for our two day trip and by the time we came back out he had it strapped to the sled. Now both straps came out, right on top. Know another guy with the same pack, not quite as many problems, but his straps are also ripping out on top. Not much of a pack IMO. I have a BCA stash pack, and it's been really good for three years now, it's just way to small. Need something where I can carry my shovel on the out side of the back. Can't even get my food in my backpack. It's full just from emergency items. So I'm looking for a new one as well.

Dakine hei pro...6 years. Use it all the time when going anywhere. Even been through the airports a few times.
It does need to be washed tho', afraid it may fall apart if I do wash it...

I also have a HMK pack..4 years with no complaints. I pack a lot of stuff and it is very comfortable and allows for movement. :)

HMK packs are awesome! Quality and durable. If you are looking for air bags, but want comfort and lighter setup check these out, AVI Vests. They are new to snowmobiling but skiers been using these and they fit great! Our first year riding with them can't speak for durability yet. www.avivest.com

Been with my Camelback for 4 years now, still love it!

The only thing that concerns me about the vest is where do you put your shovel at? I prefer to keep my shovel on me in case I get separated from the sled. other than that, I think it's a great idea!

The vest has a shovel and probe pocket on the back of it.

trying the klim pack this year. last year i ripped the strap off my hmk pack when it caught in a branch and tried to pull me off the sled. also used a Dakine heli pro for many years. Now its full on 10lb weight plates for walking on the tradmill

I've had mine all across iraq and afghanistan and through TSA a few times its held up admirably I think it has one small hole. my last trip I put 5 days worht of clothes, computer, some electronics, a book, tiolitris, camera, paperwork, my kevlar, backpack and my coat on it. I'll take a pic of it before i completely drain out all the stuff. I am completely impressed with it, they've thought of everything lots of hooks and parts you can hook on a D ring and add some more stuff. Last backpack I'll ever buy, and the sand and dust gives it character!
