A good quality Urethane
The urethane will be a very durable finish.
YOu could go with the hardwood flooring finish, the more sheen, the harder the finish. Endura makes a good plastic 2 part component, but it is pretty harsh.... but man does it last.

polyurethane, block sand after 24 hours with 400 grit and do another coat.block sanding is the key to getting a nice finish.

It is an two part epoxy resin. Hardware Hanks carry it as do Menards and Home Depot. You will pay roughly $75 for kit which is two jugs that are 64 oz. The brand I use is Envirotex Lite. Mix it 1 to 1. Make SURE to mix it really good. If you don't get it mixed good, get the sander out because it will never dry. Just mix it up, pour it on, and lightly blow the air bubbles out. Easy stuff and holds up really good. I have had it on my kitchen counters, bar top, and coffee table. Still looks great after two years + you can pour stuff into it like pictures, coins, bills, ect.

lmao!! all it takes is some 2x4s to make it up to a capacity of about 6.. thats why im asking about the coating.. i dont want there 6 inch stiletto heels to be gouging up my bar.. nevermind, get 4 of em over here, i dont care if they break the fawkin thing!!
