i was reading the local paper under sleds. there is a 93 xlt with 38,000 miles for sale $800. i had a 94 xlt with 12,ooo miles and never touched engine.

I rode my 2000 RMK to over 10,000 miles (never opend the engine) and my wife racked up over 9,000 on her '99 Mnt Max. We used to rally 'em all over Yellowstone & IP back in the day.

They're just sitting now though collecting dust. I figure with that many miles no one will want to buy them. Worth more as back ups then trying to sell...unless someone wants to offer me high Blue Book?

I bet that 38K mile XLT is a typo though. Probably meant 3,800 miles. ?

xlt

i had a 1997 xtl, had well over 15,000 miles on it and the motor had never been opened up. i kick my self in the a$$ for selling it every time i think about it, that was a year and a half ago.

Someone just had an article in a sled mag with their 4Stroker back in the flatland...somewhere in French Canukia about some long trip he did....like 15,000 in ONE season or something like that.

from 2005 to 2007 i put 17,000 miles on my 2001 mountain cat 800. after that i put just new rings on and went another 4500 miles. during all that i blew 6 chains, 2 chaincases, broke 2 rails, blew all the shocks, broke an a-arm, broke the tunnel in half, ripped the bulkhead, went through 2 voltage regulators, 2 cowlings, 2 seats, broke my steering column, broke both those stupid green parabolic skis that get sunfaded, went through 2 tracks, broke my drivers, and broke countless clutch springs. i traded the sled for an old dirt bike and now people are trying to sell that sled for $1700.

Ya and he had like 36,000 miles on his Vector!

i too read that article on that vector. he put somehtin like 15k on in only 60 days! they said he averaged over 200 a day.

i have seen a few mm700's with high mileage. the highest one had over 22000 miles with only one rebuild at 17,000 and the top end looked emaculate. sled was recently sold and new owner loves it. i have 13,000 on my o2 viper with a topend rebuild at 11,000. seems there are alot of 15-20 thou but anything over that seems kinda rare.
