What's the best turbo/supercharger for technical boondocking?

If you could build an Apex mountain just for technical boondocking in the trees (and some minor hill climbing), what would be the ultimate way to boost a sled for this application?

I would want the absolute minimum amount of lag or bog.

It would have to be trouble free and tinker free. An absoulte plug and play sled.

The stage II supercharger sounds like a good way to go but, does excessive fuel useage alone disqualify it from consideration?

What about fuel? I guess I'd want as much boost as possible with the least use of race gas.

I know I'd want a 162" Camo Extreme but what rear suspension?

I don't ask for much, do I?

I'd also want to buy someone sled set up and ready go. I really don't care to go through all the dialing in headaches this time around.

What do you think?

I have a stage 2 SC and can ride the guts out of it on a tank of gas. I have never had a problem running out. Ya..they use more fuel than a turbo, but how much fuel does a guy need in a day?

front mount turbo no lag i boondock with with my M-10 not sure if it is the best for boondocking but i like the skies on the ground in the shutes. Alpine turbo best kit out there 12 pounds pump and go. Alpine also has a Apex new waiting for a turbo and they have a used 08 174 M-10 with a 30 turbo ready to go.

Supercharged

I have an 07 Apex with a stage 2 MPI. I'm impressed with the supercharger. No tinkering. Turn the key and go. I run 50/50 at 6000 and up. Straight 114 below 6000.
Ultimate boondocker over the turbo. I had an alpine before this and it was a better climber but won't even touch it for boondocking. Just my .02

2.25 mavrick
9" MM freedom axle
Fox floats in the front
Boss seat
Under tunnel exhaust
scratchers
2cool vent kit
stage II MPI with BOV

Myself and a couple buddies all ride SC and mostly boondock...I swear it is like cheating or something. I think boost without lag is the best but that is a personal preference. The boost comes on at idle and is noticable and manageable all the way to redline.

Yes I think boost is cheating too! :face-icon-small-win

I just love the idea of superchargers but, I had read they used fuel at a rate much higher than a turbo? Is it worth going for the stage II over the stage I (even though the fuel octane requirements are much higher)?

In fact, I was so close to putting a stage I MPI on my RX-1M but, in the end I did not. I was also looking at a couple Simmon's CPR turbo setups for my RX-1 but, so far I haven't bought one. I think that's because I have the go ahead from my better half to buy a new sled now or in the spring (turbo something or M1000 or XP) and I don't want to mess up the opportunity.

Alpine turbo huh? I'll do some research.

So if a guy is looking for a boondocker and not a climber. This could get ugly...... Is the Nytro or Apex preferable?

I would get a sc if boondocking is a priority. much faster throttle response and will run out pretty good as well. if you try boost you wont go back. I have a stage 11 and run 50/50 at about 15 pounds of boost at 10,000 feet. I do use a ton of gas which is certainly a drawback. however packing some is definatly worth it with what you get from it. here is a look at mine. good luck

keep it stock, you don't need boost for your needs plus you don't need the extra maintenance, they have enough power

I have had both The boondocker would be the s/c if you can make it run. They are always on.. BUT the turbo sleds have way more r$$d so there is way more tech support out there.

I love my turbo I built a rear mount nytro with a 153 for a boondocker I love it and would do it again. The best part about it is that my powderlites kit is that in 500 miles of riding hard I have just checked the oil this one this time has been a turn key and go (first time ever that I have had a mod sled that runs like a stocker
