I have a 2004 Skidoo 800 factory mod that was converted to a mountain sled. I'm looking for information on going to a single pipe/can for 7000' plus. What brand has the best results for high elevation. I did a search and read a lot about Aaen,Dynoport just not sure on which one..Thanks for your input. Later -Ron

I have a SLP pipe/HPS can combo and it seems to work well. i also have ported and polished if that makes any difference

Without a doubt, STOCK ceramic coated single & HPS can.

Sounds good! I forgot about hps cans I had one on my 2007 dragon and loved the way it sounded. Your the second person now that said nothing beats stock on this motor for single pipe... This is what I will be ordering... Thanks

Slim X 2 except SLP ceramic coated can. The CC pipe stays warmer longer for more consistant power--however. I still have a 10" section of 1/2 the clam shell directly behind the front vent just to keep the ice off the pipe.

X 2 on clutching---D^Js clutch kit works best for me above 7,000'

Slim,
Can I ask what the ceramic coating helped with and how much/ where did you have it done? I have used exhaust wrap on motorcycle and felt it helped with keeping my leg cooler.

The ceramic coating takes the place of the heavier stock insulation and retains the heat that the pipe is designed to operate at to attain & maintain peak H.P. & Trq. This is a must.

I have mine done at ACE powder coating in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They ceramic coat all the products for HPS, SLP & Precision Products ;)

all i know with the ceramic coat is that it don't work the best on twins. cause it trys to force all the hot air out the exit instead of all the way round the pipe. but i don't know bout a single. iv,e had better luck with just a black powder coated pipe and can than ceramic coated. plus the more vents you can get in your sled helps tons.

If you have to buy a pipe then I would go with a Dynoport or Aaen...unless you can find a cheap used Stocker. HPS's might work well but they are LOUD. My dual stinger CPI can is quieter.

Talked with Turboal and he says he had the best luck with the SLP pipe with modded motors above 5,000'. He has tested many pipes and many different Doo motors and feels confident the SLP pipe will work.
