What's the best secondary?

I've always ran the old school Arctic Cat roller clutch. A few years ago in comparing it to the then current Team it just seemed more in tune with my input than the Team.

That being said, I couldn't get a Cat roller to run fer shyt on a 1200 Watercraft... judging by your big hp set up you got there the only thing I could get to run right on the high hp watercraft was a Polaris button clutch... Weird.

This will probably be seen as old school now though.

Shockwave offers a complete driven clutch with the adjustable shockwave helix on a 1" keyed shaft.

Many people find the ts98 much better for the larger engines. People complain that the tss-04 is to hard to get set up for big HP. However, i love my Tss-04's

seems big hp and cat roller always wants to suck the belt quick into the secondary..try a button cover or the green sno pro spring..that being said..just put a team tied on a 800 dragon and ..awesome..think they have a winner with the team tied

the problem I have with the team clutch is that helix's are spendy if you need more than 1 or two and theres really no adjusting/fine tuning out in the field or in general for that matter.

The shockwave setup is really sweet, simple external adjustment, which for turbo applications changing boost levels or elevation is kind of a must!

Yeah shockwave's are more money up front but have what, 16 degree's or so of adjustability, let alone if you have a clutch that you can change spring preloads.

If you know exactally what helix to run with a clutch that you havent used before, dont change boost levels or elevation much than a TEAM is great IMO. Oh yeah you need that little tool to change a belt (it just makes it a whole bunch easier) and the spring compressor tool to change out the spring.

Playing with a tss-98. They sure don't make them easy to adjust. Talked to Team about the tied and they said I would need a custom helix, I can just imagine how long that is going to take.

Looked at the larger Dia clutches but it seem the only advantage to that is you can get a lower start gear.

I know a lot of people go to the old Polaris button secondary on big HP applications.
The roller clutches are too sensitive to the torque.

If you can get the jackshaft machined to accept a Yamaha button secondary you can run the Shockwave helix.....proven on alot of Yami's with big power....it's durable, simple, cheap, and as Scott mentioned the old buttons are still preferred for some applications.
