What's the best buy on a beacon, probe, and shovel combination???

Any new digital beacon will be good--i sell DTS Trackers, shovel and probe for 299.00 inc. shipping in the lower 48..

I'd suggest either the DTS Tracker or Pieps DSP. I've used trackers and have friends with them and they work great and bought a DSP last year and find it even easier to use. Make sure you get a good Aluminum shovel with a good size blade. The SOS shovel Cat offers to fit its compartment has a tiny blade. Also make sure you get a decent lenght probe. Most of the ones that fit into a shovel are only 6-7ft which seems like enough but you have to push it all the way in to get that length. I have a 10ft I can carry easily in my pack that allows you to probe to the same depth easier.

If you are a member of REI then they have pretty compedative prices if you factor in the rebate deal. I just bought two BCA DTS trackers and in playing hide and seek in the yard today they seem very easy to use. For shovels and probes I like black diamond stuff.

Snowbigdeal gives forumers a very nice deal too. PM him for prices.

....that's the best deal I have seen. Couple that with a TNA lighting pack, and you are set up for 4 bills....

REI is one of the biggest supporters of the Sierra Club and Green Peace.

The most popular shovel / probe combo that we sell is the Voile Rescue shovel with an 8.5' stowable probe. The tracker DTS is also the most popular beacon out there.

Check out http://www.snowbigdeal.com or PM me for group buys.

I 2nd that!!! That's why I really honestly try to stay away from supporting them in any business. I only go there if I absolutely HAVE to use them. I drove 30 mins yesterday to avoid going to REI.

whats the deal here REI is what and why avoid?

REI is an outdoor sports retail place (like Sports Authority) but mainly focused toward Mountaineering and climbing and camping. They are a "cooperative", meaning you can become a "member" of their club and receive discounts (10% I think)....problem I have with them is they are a HUGE supporter of the Sierra Club, which is the main impetus for millions of acres of OHV land closing. They are a severe "greenie" club, full of rich liberalists that have more time and money than sense, and jump on any bandwagon that makes them feel good (like closing public access areas to motorized vehicles).....

Yep, I hate 'em.

We got DTS Trackers and they are simple and easy to use. Got them from TA, fast shipping and a good deal. :beer;

Try Sportsman's Warehouse. They generally have anything that REI would have, and guns! I've always had a problem with a place calling themselves a sporting good store that does not carry guns, but that is just me. Why support someone who wants to shutdown the things you enjoy doing when there are other options?
