Whats the best belt for a supercharged apex had brand new Dayco Ultimate 3 washed it a scrubbed the sides up with soap and water and it blu up after about 100 miles, what last the longest Thanks.
Yamaha 8DN is by far the best belt, nothing will even come anywhere close. Running 300+ HP for 3000 km's on a Yami belt is excellent proof right there.
We've been running Yamaha belts with no issues, I've used the Dayco U II & III ~ washing them, etc. and had no problem other than their price. Others swear by Dayco but I've run Yamaha on my sled, same belt for several seasons. D
the price isnt to bad for the dayco belt but yamaha belt is a little cheaper but i just got a new yamaha belt today so ill try this one and see what happens thanks for all the imput
It stills comes down to breaking the belt in to some degree. I have seen both belts last a long time and both disappear in less than fifty miles. If there is belt slippage to start none will last.
8DN is the way to go, I have tried the Dayco and went back to the 8DN.
I clean te belt and clutches regularly (Probably way more often than needed) but have had zero problems in the last two years.
