I have one in my trailer and I have used it twice in the last 2 wks after having it rattling around in the trailer for 2 years.

Anyway they work fuggen awsome! Towed out an M7 with a locked up diamond drive up hill and in the powder and last wk had to tow out my buddies XP with broken driver shaft. Needless to say a few of my riding buddies want one and I need a new one. Plus the one I had workded perfect for the 153 M7 but was a little skinny and 6"short for the 16?" XP and now it is starting to tear.

We could have gotten the XP out but risked more damage to it by towing with the track turning but the M7 was locked solid and wasn't coming out without a new diamond drive.

I recommend these things be in everyones trailer. Very cool product. It was actually a gift to me and when I got it I thought HUH what am I gonna do with this???? Well it sure the hell hase its time and place and I am gald it was in the trailer.

I would just go look at it but trailer is at dealer...thanks for the help:)

I think It's called a snow buddy.

Mine isn't anything fancy, was a 3$ longer than normer "crazy carpet" from walmart..just make sure she comes off before going down a hill.

OUT OF STOCK:(

That thing seriously worked like a dream. I thought we were going to have to leave the M7 on the hill. It was locked tight and we had some pretty good hills with good snow on them to climb to get it out.

Thanks for the replies!!

Where do you store it while riding???? how do you fasten it right behind the sled so it doesnt hit the towing sled if you have no brakes ???? do you have to remove it for all hills?
thanks

snowbunjie tow straps. Strap the skis to the bumper pull it up REAL tight no problems. We went down some big hills with the XP no problems. When the towed sled comes forward the straps pull up on the skis and slow it down.

EDIT: I don't ride with the towbuddy. I keep it in the trailer. Sh!t goes that wrong we go back to the trailer. I do pack the snowbunjie tow straps you can fit them in you pocket...Only time you should need the tow buddy is if you have track/drive problems. Motor problems are simple tow outs:)

We had to tow a m10 out with a broken direct drive this weekend in Afton.

sure wish we had one of these. we had to throw the back end up on a tunnel of another sled and rodeo it out.

Slim has some great video of that he needs to post... Sucks for Matt, but the entertainment value was right up there!

it towed out a 16 wide xp. Its not perfect but it works. I have seen the track on the tunnel and the skis turned around but that scares me all that weight on the end of my tunnell......

Video would be cool:)

Boy, I'm glad I went to the link on this product before posting. I used a "similar" product in yellowstone park about 7 years ago..It was a pile of chit!!
Since I've never used this brand I can't endorse it, but I would STRONGLY oppose anybody buying the cheaper brands..
I had to retrieve a firecat that had actually caught on fire, melting everything to everything. It took way too long to secure & didn't control fishtailing at all. & about 5 miles into the tow I realized it wasn't there no more:mad:.

You can carry a Buddy Tow with you easily

Hi: Knowing the Buddy Tow owner personally, I have had one since the product's inception, and have had to use it...not for me, but for my Buddies!! like the slogan says.
Mine is on my sled at all times. I'm riding an M8 153", and there's a nice bit of room just behind the luggage rack area and ahead of the tail light. I drilled holes on either side of the tunnel and installed 2 small eye bolts. The Buddy Tow sits in that area, and I run a rubber bunje through the Buddy Tow and connect it to each of those eye bolts. It's safe and sound in there and doesn't interfere with either the luggage rack or my trunk.
If you don't have that kind of room, it can be a bit cumbersome, and may have to stay in the truck, but I'm telling you, on the occasions I've had to use, I really needed it! It's a very simple but practical product, and in no way compares to the $3 anything you can buy at Wal-Mart. I actually think I could fit it under the hood of my sled, but that's unlikely for many others.
Good product though, and best of all, it saves wear and tear on the towing sled and costs about as much as the belt you'll smoke pulling in a dead sled.
