Pretty slow in here lately. I know I've been busy fishing for a few Kings and plenty of chum salmon, both for sale and for the winter. I know we cut and smoked twice as many King Salmon as we did last summer which makes for great eating. The fat content keeps me warm during the winter while riding. :)

So next time you are in a fancy restaurant and there's fresh salmon on the menu, as if it came from the Yukon. There aren't many kings floating around out in Anchorage that came from the Yukon because of politics, but there are some lucky places.

So what else are you people up to?

Got back from Homer last night, wife and I each got 2 'but and 1 lincod.
Put up a shop and finally got it weathered in, now I've got a lot of work to make it totally usable.

Windsurfing, kite boarding, skateboarding, and trying to break my neck on my new downhill bike. Haha I can get down alyeska faster on my bike now than I can on my board.

Please be careful and don't take anything for ganted. We just lost a great friend and a fantastic rider to a tragic car accident on the Seward highway Monday night. Riley McVitty, 23 of Anchorage was riding passenger in the Acura that collided head on with the pick up. I'm not going to go into details but he is no longer with us. I'm pretty much typing in tears and it sucks. Life is so precious and you never know when your time is up. I can only hope he's in chest deep pow right now hucking a sick jump.

RIP Riley, you will be missed :(

summer: a test of patience

Sorry to hear about your friend. Im sure he's in a better place now. God has a special place for riders.

Just sold the M7. Kind of surprised that it sold in July, but definately not complaining. Snowchecked a Summit and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. Not a day goes by that i dont think about deep pow days in LL or Placer yet it seems like when i mention riding during the long summer i get strange looks like im obsessed or crazy for thinking about it when its so far away. For a while i thought hell maybe i am obsessed and i just need to stop thinkin about it, but then i see a nice pond and right away started looking for a way to get my sled to it for some skippin. I even tried going out on a boat in big lake for some summer fun and out of no where some guy on a t cat shows up and starts rippin circles around our boat. Thanx tcat guy atleast now i know im not alone.

RIP Riley ~ it was a pleasure meeting and riding with you last winter. My heart goes out to my friends that were close to him and to his family... He will be missed.

I am having awesome summer (as usually), I am just happy with what I have and do, life is much better that way! Nikolai is right, don't take anything for granted! And enjoy what you do!
I am in California right now, suffering in 100F and having lots of fun. Picking up my new motorcycle today and will go exploring the roads in Sierras and National Parks here. We have already done a group ride of Rocket III owners in Lake Tahoe last weekend, which was GOOD! 260 miles one day, 9600 elevation passes, 24% grades, narrow roads and beautifull country. Next day 140miles around Lake Tahoe and lunch in Virginia City in Bucket of Blood Saloon.
Unfortunately, there were 3 crashes in 2 days: A guy went over a cliff (no kidding), over rocks about 200 ft but had only 2 fingers and a wrist broken. Next day older guy dislocated his shoulder, suffered consussion and had head bleeding for 2 days in a hospital. HIs friends went to see him and a truck pulled in front of them, so they ended up there as well. They all are OK now but we witnessed in person how dangerous motorcycling is.
So ya all be carefull out there and have a great summer!

So far I am enjoying this absolutely beautiful Alaskan summer! If your here for endless sunshine and 75+ summers, your in the wrong place.
My in laws came up for a couple weeks, caught some fish, not putting too much effort into the fishing, I still have a bunch of well packaged fish from last year.
Sled is sitting in the garage growing a pile of stuff on it...just enough room to get to the pull rope a few times a month. I should probably change the plugs on it this year!
Got some halibut trips lined up in the next month or so, probably a silver trip to Jim creek soon.
I put a dual exhaust kit on my Silverado too! I love it!! Not quite as much as the Summit, but nice in a different (4 stroke V8) way.

My gratitude to those no longer here to enjoy this place with us, thanks for sharing what you brought, even if I never met you, I have faith there will be great like minded people to ride with me on the flip side.
Cheers! :beer;

total"BUMMER" I know exactly how you feel nikolai, sorry for the loss of a good friend:(. Just so happened to have met Riley at Arctic Man this year, as he is a friend of one of mine. Seemed like a great guy, sorry to hear about this.

Im headin to Valdez on the 13th to do some silver fishin for 3 days. Should be fun, everytime we've been there we've limited out every day, except for one year when it was like 70 degrees (in valdez!). So hopefully it had to do with the hot weather, since i gotta feelin it wont be like that this year.

what a crappy summer it has been!!!!!!!

LET IT SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
