Whats goin on in the snow cross world?

Use to watch it all the time, thought it was purty cool, heard something about Yammy starting a new team this year. Did it happen? Is there still racing going on? Havent heard a thing all winter.

Do you live in a cave????? LOL Try wpsaracing.com or mountainwestracing.com. There is also a good circuit in Colorado from what I've heard. That should start getting you up to date. Good Luck

Ya my cave has high speed internet and tv and everything. My point is why does it not get any tv coverage anymore. It may be easy for the die hard snocross fan to get the updates but for the casual observer, of which myself and I'm thinking everybody else in the free world is, It would be nice to see it on the tube again.

I was kidding. You are right though, it's not on TV as much as it was last year. The only way we seam to be able to get it on TV is by setting the auto record on the satelite dish. We've only been to a couple race, Duluth, Canterbury and West Yellowstone. Canterbury is the only race I've seen on TV.

I used to follow it too.

I have become bored with it.
I would rather watch mountain riding footage or freestyle.

What's happening at Brainerd??? Just got off the phone with some of my buds and it sounds like no body is there. 20 sporties and not many more semi-pros and about 300 spectators. Don't know what's goin on but it don't look good for racing. Entries seem down east to west.

I think you are right.
15 years ago, it WAS cool.
But like everything, trends & interests change.
It really isn't "cool" any more.

We've only been snocross racing for 11 years so I missed the COOL era. All I know now is it cost a lot of time and money to be uncool. On the bright side, in about one week when the season is over I'll be able to go back to riding in the mountains with my friends. That will be very cool!

Well, whether it's the in thing or not, I respect the physical requirements of the sport!

well if the snox side goes to hell maybe the big 4 will be even more focused on the freestyle/backcountry aspect of the sport, that's where its headed....even in the last 6 years the mountain sled as a whole has moved forward by leaps and bounds.

Back when I started in the mid 80's (yeah I'm old) we raced our trail sleds. Out of the back of our pick-ups not million $ haulers, or even enclosed trailers. Helluva lot cheaper and more fun I have to say. Then next weekend you slammed the suspension and went ovals.

Been around a few guys that used to race...sounds to me that there are less opportunities for the local guys due to declining attendance...money sounds like a big factor. Lots of snowcross sleds anymore are race gas based and it's too expensive.
