the rev or the XP????????? . which sled took longer to learn to ride ? is one closer to the m-series ?
mike:D

the xp is easier to ride. both take time to learn how to ride, they are totally different then a convetional snowmobile for the comparison you are asking about m sled to doo, it would be the zx chassis that the m is close to in ride with the m being much better

Um.. first impressions a rev 144 will handle slightly better than a xp 146. I have gotten used to my xp and and now would never trade it for an rev. Also rode one with aftermarket ski's and a innerwheel kit and i will tell you mine will have those mods in the next month! I would have to say the Rev handles closer to an M, would i ride an M or a rev? most likely not, i love my xp. I would buy a new dragon though, it would look good along side my xp:D Both solid sleds... Another suggestion, stay away from the 163. 154 is max for an xp, just my opinion though.

I don't have any fancy stuff like that. My XLT rips. Might sell one of them next year so I can maybe upgrade. I ride what I got. Thanks to Makaveli_Rev. Just kiddin. Next year. HHMMMMM D8 163:D
But on a serious note: I was acually going to keep my Rev another year. Not an XP that could touch her. She will be missed.

I know your thanking me deep down inside. Good excuse to wife anyways:D Twas a good sled you had there bro, i did see you plant it right near the top of the first hill on double hill the week before new years though. You rolled it over and i thought it was goin to the bottom! luckily it stopped in the bottomless powder. Other than that it was highmarks all morning long for sledhead! Next year, its on!

Alright buddy, whats going on!

You thinking about coming over to the dark side? :D If you do, you'll prolly miss the whistle sound of that M7..;) lol

Deepest day of the year. No way an M could get to my Rev to help that day.:face-icon-small-win

That pretty much sums it up. XP will take longer to learn IMO, but once you get the hang of it, you won't go back. The only difference in the 163" & the 154" in the XP is the 163" will take you a lot higher on the deep snow days.

From what I noticed in learning to ride a Rev and XP is where you stand.
The Rev you want to be a little more fwd then what your used to and the XP you want to be a little further back. Helps not to have the risers on the xp jacked straight up like they come from the dealer...not sure why they do that cause it seems to make it akward.
More people feel comfortable going from a M to a D it seems like but you'll have an xp down by your 2nd or 3rd ride.

well i have the blue and white 163 on order just curious what i was gettin myself into !!

A lot of smiles. Your biggest worry will be how to deal with the pain in your cheeks after ginning all day. I really think all the sleds are going to rock next year. It really will depend on what you do to it after it's out of the box. I'm going from a Rev to a Dragon and I know it's going to take a lot of getting used to. It's kind of like the first time you put on a pair of new shoes. Just feels funny. :face-icon-small-win

mmmmmmmmmm........ I'm going to have to play with that!! Thanks!!:beer;

I finally got out on all three this year. The easiest to ride was DEF the dragon. It took VERY little rider input to slip into a FLAT sdiehill or to pull a carve off. I'm not going to talk about anything to do with performance that's a whole differnt issue but ease of riding, DEF the dragon. However, once you get used to the XP, in just a few rides I'm sure you'll be used to it, it handles great...

It took me a whole, very painful day before I could comfortably put an M1000 into a sidehill or carve. It took me one second to think about carving on a Dragon and it did it for me, I seriously was AMAZED at how easy it made riding, almost cheating! On the XP I had a hard time getting used to the body positioning but since I'm coming from a Rev I was able to handle it just fine right off the get go....

The number one mistake guys make side hilling a REV or XP is were they stand....

stay in the middle of the running board (plus or minus a boot length) if you try to side hill with feet in the stirrups then its awkward...move back a little and everything comes easy-IMHO-BJ

That's what I found too but I have a really hard time not having my toe in that safety spot! If I get bucked by something the added strength of my legs can hold me onto the sled, rather than just my arms, when I have my feet in the 'stirrups'. That's a HUGE reason I'm nervous about going to the XP... (well that and I can't afford it right now! hahaha)

But seriously, some people have told me they do ride in the 'stirrups' and others that they just changed their riding style on the XP and their feet never get that far fwd... I'm not saying all the time but for a majority of the riding do most XP peeps ride with their feet fwd or back a step -which would be about as far fwd as you can get on a Rev??

thats good 4 me cause i have my feet aways back anyway on my m=series .. im never in the sturups . seen to many friends and people get hurt that way .. broken hips .legs etc cause the boot gets stuck in the sturup in a bad situation when u have to bail .. i ride far away from them . but thats just me i ride different than most i guess but my weight helps out as well im 250+lbs and 6'3"

+1 - and adjust the riser/handlebars back a little (NOT straight up and down) so you're relaxed standing back a little further - it reduces the input effort needed to initiate and hold a sidehill...
