Whats everyone listening to - Pt. 2

Remember those trumpets they played on Castle walls in old movies?
There's a claim that it takes 10' to play a perfect note, beyond my pay grade.

But I did get to experience a private sound room and it had a pair of mids, 10' rolled up sea shells.

All the electrical components were staged individually on hollowed out wooden legs filled with sand just off the floor.
The towers in two corners looked like someone's cat climbing boxes
There was one chair in the middle of the room between those shells.
I can't really explain the clarity of the music, it was so clean, and what it did to the mind was insane.
Closest explanation would be that at the base of the skull by the spine I felt pressure anb I'll just say the tapestry on the wall sorta came to life with the musicians.
There was no need for any conveniences in that room.

You won't be the first to call me nuts:)

I believe ya Hawkster, i have had the same pleasure. I was in car/home audio for a longgg time. All of the equipment was most most likely built of vacuum tubes and each piece had its own pre-amp and amp. High end equipment is still built with them to this day. Hard to explain the sound other than "warm'. you can tell a definete difference between digitized and tube amplification. I for 1 am still all about the vinyl, there is nothing better.

... except pops, skips, and having to change it every 20 minutes...

And I likely haven't been able to hear any difference in 30+ yrs by now.
