what's an '05 900 with a bad motor worth?

Have an '05 900 with a bad motor. Piston broke and fell into the crank. What is the machine worth as is? Have someone who is interested in it but I don't know where to begin.

Just to give you an idea on another sled...before i bought my m8 i was going to buy an 09 assult that needed a motor, but it was kinda rough all around. guy wanted 3k, sled was pretty stock

I just bought a Snowcheck 2005 900 166" with Grippers, intake, handlebars, and smoked pistons for $750...

Since they are going for around $2500 - $3000 with a good running motor and some extras... and you are looking at about $2000 in repairs if you do the labor yourself and get a good deal on parts... $1000 ballpark for the sled "as is" is reasonable.

Parting it out takes a lot of time to disassemble, boxing/shipping and marketing of the parts.

My 2 cents.

Add another $300 for the extras to the price (SLP Holz and TCP) if left on as a roller ...

Or put it back to stock...sell the few aftermarket parts... The pipe/can should fetch $200-$250, The arms about the same, The spindles about $150....

Leave the airbox as it really does not have much resale (I've been trying to sell my TCP for a while now at $75 with no takers)
