whats a skidoo like? in the market for a newer sled

i need some info on a 04-06 doo summit or whatever mountain sleds they had for these years. i have a 02 cat 151 and have ridden a 07 M8 153 and was wondering how the 04-06 800's 151's doo's compare to the M's. Durability, power, handeling, climbing, boondocking, FUEL RANGE!!!, REVERSE !!! and anything else you might think of.i know the M7's + M8's are pushing out 140 hp, handle great, and get over 100 miles on their fuel range, but im not all that impressed. im not real big on polaris and yamaha is to expensive and heavy for me so i thought i might try the doo. i've heard good things but id like to hear more.

Thanks in advance
Jeremy

P.s. please dont make this into a brand war

i have an 04 skidoo rev 144 and i have done just a few minor things and i have rode the new nitro new rmk and even the 07 rev and i wouldnt trade mine for any of them yet i love mine you have to keep in mind they have there week points just like any sled. almost all of my riding buddies have bought revs there are just a couple left one on a yamaha viper and one on an 07 rmk the rest have switched to revs!

id do the 06' REV if its available to you.

It takes a mod cat to run with a stock doo, take my word on that

I had a 2002 Mountain Cat 800 EFI 151" (10-tooth drivers, PPP CAN, suspension setback).

I just moved to a 2005 800 REV (SLP CAN, SLP Head, VFIII Reeds, SLP Intake, Holz Rear Suspension, Fox Shocks). 144"

The chassis difference is amazing. The REV moves so much better. Power is there. I have no complaints. I think you will like the change. I considered an M7 (because of the value pricing) but am happy I chose the REV. The track is a bit shorter but I do more Boondocking and playing so it works out nicely.
Reverse is nice because it is electric/push button. It is much lighter than the Cat's reverse system because there is no extra gear(s). Reverse really doesn't matter for I don't ever use it while riding. It is nice to take on off the trailer and when it is in the garage.

The REV chasis carves so much easier than the Mountain Cat. I liked the M7 but something about it wasn't right for me.

My only complain is missing the EFI. It is not a big deal but I have turn the REV upside down a couple times and it flooded. Not a problem to get it started again, but the Cat would still be running and have no problems.

its like kissing your sister.. or so i've heard... haha :D...

nah.. the 06-07 rev platforms are really nice.. another good thing is there is a lot of aftermarket used parts for sale.. cheaper to mod that most sleds

Skidoo opinion

We have an 05 1000 summit 162 and an 07 800R 151 the 1000 has tons of power but sort of heavy and harder to handle than the 800. The 1000 is mine but from time to time I ride the 800(wife's sled) at the end of the day my choice would be the 800. Just buy it leave it stock and ride it have had no problems with either sled so far. Ps the 800 is very good on fuel too!
