Whatever happened to all the honest, genuine people? Recent events have proven to me that there isn't many left, that recognize hard work, and trustworthiness. I guess the only way to get to the top in life is to cheat, lie, and backstab...Vent over! :o

Somethin bad happen to ya Jack????.......... But definatley agree with ya, hard to find good people out there anymore........

Every damn day I go to work I wonder that. Morals and ethics aren't in a lot of peoples vocabulary. It is very sad.

Good vent.

I agree, its tough to find people today that support, and even recognize honesty, integrity, and diligence. But, its a vicious cycle. Employers only see dishonesty, grittiness, and cheating. So that's all they hire. But people entering to workforce see these idiots getting jobs, so they become those idiots.

Glad to hear there is someone else as frustrated with the current system as myself!

Ok, my vent is over too!

I definitely agree! Are you talking about something in particular?

I agree with all of you. Another thing that bothers me, maybe since I am older than the rest of you is the "disrespect" I see toward people who have sacrificed their lives so that others in this country can live a good life and have opportunities to make it. They all want f......ng handouts and think they "deserve" this or that. Doesn't work that way in the long run.

I am glad to see guys like those of you on this particular thread who sound like a bunch of good hardworking, hard playing guys.:beer;:beer;

I think every kid should be required to work on a farm for x-many years to get the true understanding of life, hard work/work ethic, responsibility, respect for others, discipline, common sense and the general idea that life isn’t just about “yourself”. Stay out to late and have a hangover? That sucks because there are miles of fence to built on rock hard ground and you can only find “sympathy” in the dictionary between the words Sh*t and Syphilis. Don’t dare be late to do chores and don’t dare mouth off to the old man, or you might soon have a new out look on life.

Oh just friends of mine, or should I say "friends"....just disappointing to see. Really hope that our future children don't end up this way, but seems our government seems to be run the same way. If you have money and connections you seem to get ahead. And any respect for your elders have gone out the window. Happy to see the few guys/gals that agree...gives me some hope! :)

 When you meet people and decide to consider them friends you need to ask yourself if your going to know these people in 10 years. If your not, then you decide how much to put into the relationship because at that point you probably wont get back as much as you put in.

People do cruel cruel things

Somewhere around 10 years ago a simular topic came up on this site. It was about young kids at the time. The ones in the 7 to 14 range back then that were as uncontrolable as 3 to 4 year olds. I had pointed out the fact that many were raised in fatherless enviroments and or were in a family where their natural fathers were not around them or they were not raised well being given things constantly, instead of making them earn things to make them satisfied and not to be disturbing to their single parent. Hence morals were overlooked. Courtesy has pretty much gone out the window. Worst part is realizing the world does not revolve around them or they do not mature until they are in their later 20's when it hits many of them with a rude awakening as real life catches them. After prayers at my father in law's funeral a few weeks back, a normal conversation with a priest afterwards found my ears listening to exactly what is being said in this topic. No morals and disreguard for the people around them is leading to their own failure by time they realize what they thought was funny and OK comes around at an later age.
Problem is, I told him, we have to live surrounded by them 8 to 10 years later, when they should have developed morals and common sence that many years earlier.

Don't get to down on things. There are still a few good eggs left in this country and actually a lot of them around where you are (I'm from that area). If you travel a lot you will understand what I mean. Some areas of this country will scare the begeesus out of you. (normally large metro areas)

Hard work, respect and dedication can still get you a long way in this world as long as you don't let the rest of it get to you, although it is tough. Stick to your guns and raise any children you have with that same spirit and it will come back around for you in the end.

Couldn't agree with you more man. I grew up working a neighboring farm until I left for college, and as I look back now, I think it was the best thing that could've ever happened to me. Working long days 7 days a week in both extreme heat and cold help you to appreciate the finer things in life and not to take advantage of people.

You hit the nail on head with that one about people...every generation has deteriorated due to chitty parenting....and you are right on about government.

many of you have hit the nail on the head. It all comes back to what you can give in your friendship not what you can take or get from it. My parents installed in me the value of life and how to treat people in it. Its all about respect and being the best person you can be. The rest will just fall into place. when it comes to parenting I have installed the 1900- 1940 mentality into my daughter the same as my parents did to me. I often hope it never dies and is passed from generation to generation.

Thanks sledhead03, I to am glad that there are others out there that aren’t lazy and irresponsible. Like XC700116 said, its often about getting out of your area to see the bigger picture and find the others that really make this world go around. Lol, after wheat harvest is over in the summer and you get to go to town for the first time in three to four weeks you really realize how good you have it and that oh yeah civilization really does exist.

if you place a value on anything nontangeble you risk falling.....sadly our friends are the most common example of both.

knuckle justice, discipline, morals, honor, america.........all going bye bye:rolleyes:

I recently lost my job because of a crooked boss its amazing that someone with such poor morals and ethics can be in a position of power like that and have the ability to change peoples lives just because they dont like them.

I'm a firm believer in what goes around comes around. Just sometimes I wish it would come around a little faster is all.
