hello all i am building a 1988 650 sks 4 my father and he wants electric start but the stator on these machines does not have a circut for charging the battery. do i need to change the stator assem or can i add that part of the stator? to the motor.. Or can I just charge off the yellow wire

any help would be great

You can just charge off the yellow wire but you will have to install a rectifier because the yellow is AC. Hook the input of the rectifier to the yellow and the output through a fuse to the battery.
