What track speed are u guys seeing on aerocharger kits?

Curious what tracks speeds I should be seeing. 13 xm 163 felker installed turbo and felker clutching. Running 22T top gear. Having problems with aerochargers boost springs. Running their 7 pound spring and added 3 shims but still only hitting about 6 pounds at 8k feet. Only seeing about 45-50 mph track speeds in deep powder. Flat rips on trail though but seems like everything gets hot really quick and rpm's fade in deep snow fast down to 7800ish. Felkers set up clutch and fueling for 7 pounds so been adjusting clickers and fueling to try and compensate for the low boost. Just not sure if the inconsistency is common or looking for some ideas from you all. Other thing is at 3800ft on a stand boost is just over 7 pounds. I realize there's no resistance on motor but almost a 2 pound boost drop at elevation seems high

I'd be contacting felker.
I don't have a turbo but if I spent that amount of money on a turbo only saw 45-50 mph track speed I'd be mad! Any turbo 163 I rode had 60+ mph track speed.

Lynn felker is a wealth of knowledge and a great guy I have no doubt he will get it worked out for me. It was just the weekend so figured I'd ask questions on here. The problem is with aerocharger!! Felkers set up clutching and gearing based off what boost I wanted but aerochargers boost spring isn't producing anywhere near whst it's supposed too even maxing out shims it's still falling short. I'll be on the phone for sure tomorrow with felkers and aerocharger. I was just looking for some real world track speeds as a guideline to see what to expect. Felker crew are great people and wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. Thinking it's just minor tweaking and getting boost dialed in to what it's supposed to be

We have two identical sleds i have been working on lately. both 2014 xm's with aero kits. both same spring and washer combo in the turbo. 7psi spring and 3 shims. the one sled runs 8psi, the other has a hard time getting over 5. same setup, same clutching, cannot get the thing to make boost. fully pressure tested the sleds. cant make sense of it. dont recall track speeds. need to check that.

But as far as it ripping on the trail, then sucking in deep pow and heat fading. welcome to rearward facing intake under the hood.

Maybe one of aerocharger guys can step in here and correct me if I'm wrong but I was told aero switched their spring manufacturer and the new springs are coming in softer than before causing lower boosts than previous springs. I don't know that for a fact just stating what I've been told. I have a 8 and 9 pound spring now hoping one of them will get my boost into that 7 pound range at elevation and gonna hopefully get aero's hybrid snorkel kit coming to try out. I pulled cords on my belt so that's probably y track speeds were so low and I honestly never looked at speed besides that one time always watching rpm and a/r guage so kinda jumped the gun on posting what I saw for track speed. I came to the conclusion it's hard watching gauges under boost turboes cover a lot of ground in a quick hurry.

You are exactly right. Things come up pretty fast and seems I get no more than a quick glance at the RPM or AFR then it is time to shut it down. I have pretty much given up on comparing track speeds.....way too many variables. You want to gauge how well your system is working go to Dynomojoe's website and plug in the numbers for your gearing, drivers, track pitch and RPM and see just where your max calculated speed is. I have heard talk of 70+ mph track speeds on stock gearing but when you plug the numbers in it isn't even possible to get over 69 mph..........Hmmmmm. :help:

out with a t3 174 set up from ads in Colorado..sled ran well but on breakin still, seen a/f at 12.2 and track speeds of 53mph at 4.5 lbs boost

on my own aero, running 6 lbs usually around 60 to 70mph but on nine inch drivers and lighter sled over all...

out as well with boondocker and he was hitting 51mph with similar setup, and it dictated those results on the hill, we find that the track speed is a very good tuning tool

Go home Fred your drunk

70mph track speed at 6lbs on a 174 3" what do you get when you turn it up to 10lbs? 100+mph?

Iceman I run a carbon chassie that is 400 lbs dry, with a bb aero turbo on a 174 track... It's not very hard at all to get to 65+mph track speeds... So yes it's possible:becky:

Just to clear up any confusion-Track speed is measured on a good climb, pinned WFO. Not a here and there or when you first start spinning on a patch of ice.

Not on a flatland prairie ditch or farmers field on hard packed snow.

I wanna see pics of this thing. Sounds sweet. 400 lbs with a 174 and a turbo is very light.

Stock sleds see around 60 on about every sled. Now if you clutch it and do a few things we have a couple sleds pushing 77-80. Lol that is when it get real fun. But remember those are not out of the box set ups

I sure hope your talking about turbo'd stock sleds
